Well positioned for exploring Shropshire, mid Wales and Herefordshire, this renovated barn is set in a quiet hamlet.

A fine example of a quality, detached conversion, Ridge Barn is conveniently appointed with excellent views and is central to the medieval towns of Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock. The small hamlet of Kenley promotes peace and tranquillity, and can be enjoyed by relaxing in the private walled garden areas. Much Wenlock is a quintessentially English town, where traditional independent shops and tea rooms rule; it is known as the birthplace of the modern Olympics and the magnificent Wenlock Edge escarpment. Shrewsbury town offers attractions and historic buildings, with its theatre, trendy bars and high street shops. Bridgnorth is a town split in two, with high town and low town linked by Britain’s steepest funicular railway - you will also find Rays Farm, the Severn Valley Railway and Daniels Mill. Shropshire’s other nearby areas of interest include Ironbridge and Ludlow, and for those wishing to venture across the borderlands, mid Wales and Herefordshire are easily accessible. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 2½ miles.

Lovely barn, beautiful and very well kept. One of the best cottage style holiday homes I have ever stayed in. Very friendly owner and family. The property is out in the middle of nowhere, with no local (walkable) shops or amenities, but you don’t go on a holiday to buy bread and milk all the time! Short drives out take you to many National Trust and English Heritage properties, plus the gorge museums of the Ironbridge area, so there is plenty to do and see. I would stay here again.

This is an exquisite barn conversion. The house itself is extremely comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, with lots of light and space, and all the modern conveniences. The attention to detail is remarkable. The location is quite remote, quiet and peaceful with beautiful views and lovely walks right from the house, and a historic churchyard down the road which is a perfect spot to watch the sunset over the Shropshire hills. Interesting towns and sights are within a short drive. We had a wonderful trip and would have loved to stay longer.
