Welsh Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above..

A charming cottage with an open fire and a large garden bordering red squirrel woodland. Plas Newydd and beaches easily reached.

A charming cottage with an open fire and a large garden bordering open fields and woodland. Ideally situated for exploring Anglesey and the mainland. A supermarket and other amenities are available in nearby Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantusiliogogogoch (Llanfair PG), less than two miles away. Built in the 1830s Llety Pinc (Pink Lodge) is situated in the village of Llanedwen and is a delightful single-storey detached property set in its own large gardens with distant views of Snowdonia. Wild rabbits are a frequent sight in the adjacent fields, which are periodically used for grazing sheep and cattle. Red squirrels live in the adjacent woodland.
Llety Pinc is now privately owned, but was formerly the lodge to Plas Llwynonn, a large listed property which belongs to the Marquis of Anglesey, and is part of the Plas Newydd estate. The current owners have extended the cottage to enhance its space and delight but have retained its character. There is no straight line to be seen in the original stone built structure, the double glazed timber windows match the original design, and the stone tiled floor laid throughout adds to the authenticity. The roof tiles facing the drive to Plas Llwynonn are a particular feature, being of a fish scale design and meant to look pleasing to the gentry visiting the main house.
The cottage sleeps four people and has a large reception hall, living room with an open fire, dining room, kitchen, utility room, one double bedroom, one twin bedroom and two bathrooms. It is centrally heated throughout, utilizing old style radiators that are in keeping with the character of the property. The décor in the cottage is traditional, with added Welsh antiques, collectables and artwork. The dining room features a 200 year old Anglesey Welsh dresser, a LLanrwst grandfather clock, cricket table and a glass display cupboard filled with Welsh souvenirs and dolls. The antique bookcase in the living room has an excellent variety of books. Children are well catered for, with toys and books neatly stored away in a toy cupboard. Shop and pub 1 mile.

Large reception hall. Living room with open fire and garden door. Dining room. Kitchen. Utility room. Double bedroom with antique 5ft 6in bed. Twin bedroom. 2 bathrooms with roll-top bath, shower attachment, separate shower cubicle and toilet.

Attractive and well-furnished cottage with large rooms filled with a wealth of Welsh memorabilia. Well equipped bathrooms with bath and effective electric shower (but no shaver socket). Situated on its own on main road but good soundproofing.

I found this holiday accommodation totally fascinating. I've always had a passing interest in antiques and collectables and therefore I loved the way it was furnished, and also how the necessary modern appliances were tastefully blended in. My sister, who lives in Caernarfon, was blown away by it. It's very handy for all of North Wales - we didn't even have to take the car when we visited Plas Newydd as it was only across the road. We will definitely book again when we need to be in Wales. Many thanks for a lovely welcome - we savaged the Bara Brith and butter in the first half hour of arriving.

The A4080 passes by the front of the cottage and is very busy, ear plugs are useful if you're not used to road noise. We enjoyed our stay on Anglesey but would stay in another part of Wales on a return visit so that we could explore further.

A beautiful cottage packed with period furniture and every comfort you would wish for. Books to read, games for the kids and space for the adults. Set in pleasant countryside hopping with wildlife and farm animals. Really a most pleasant, peaceful and relaxing place to have a holiday. Several attractions right on the doorstep, close to amenities and beaches.

What a wonderful cottage Lletty Pinc is. We felt at home the minute we walked through the door. The cottage is filled with a vast amount of Welsh antiques along with a Welsh bits & pieces. It is in a wonderful location albeit on quite a busy & fast road although this didn’t bother us. The garden & the grounds surrounding the cottage are charming with views over the meadow to the Llwynonn estate. Would be we stay here again. YES in a heartbeat.
