Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Ideal for a family with something for everyone. Explore castles, National Trust properties and gardens, and children’s attractions at Drusillas Zoo.

Little Ponds is a detached house providing a very comfortable home from home from which to explore the beautiful Sussex countryside. Local pubs are within strolling distance should you be able to tear yourself away from the sauna and attractive terrace with summerhouse, which creates an ideal space for al fresco dining in the warmer weather. Walk or cycle along the Cuckoo Trail, or take a short car journey to the market town of Heathfield. There are so many places of interest close by, including Rudyard Kipling’s 17th-century, Jacobean home Bateman’s, near Burwash. Visit the Arts and Crafts House at Standen House and Gardens (NT) in East Grinstead, the Bluebell Steam Railway at Sheffield Park, and Sheffield Park Garden which has influences of landscape gardeners Capability Brown and Humphrey Repton. Royal Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne are equidistant at approximately 16 miles. Glyndebourne and the South Downs National Park are approximately 20 minutes, or why not spend a day at the races at Brighton, then discover what goes into a pint of Harveys at their Brewery Tour in historical Lewes. Explore Pevensey Castle, Herstmonceux for its castle and Observatory Science Centre, and see the animals at Drusillas Zoo, as well as Hello Kitty Secret Garden and Thomas the Tank Engine! Golf is available locally, and 3½ miles away at Framfield Lake, you can go fishing for carp, roach and bream (£8 per day for a licence). Shops and restaurants are 1½ miles, whilst pubs are approximately 1 mile.

We stayed for four nights in March and although it rained everyday we had plenty to occupy us at the house with the games facilities, and the town was only a couple of minutes drive with very good takeaways 😀

We had a wonderful time at Little Ponds and would definitely stay again. Would also recommend it. Only suggestion would be to change the mattress in the master bedroom as it was quite uncomfortable.

Wonderful house, very clean and well kept with everything you could possibly need and more. The welcome pack meant we could settle in immediately without rushing out to the shops. Thank you so much.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Little Ponds. We will definitely stay again if we need a break away. The spa and sauna were lovely. The house was very clean apart from the fridge which was missed. We had a wonderful welcome pack too. Many thanks
