Set over four levels, this spacious property is perfectly poised for fabulous sea views and sunsets, and lies close to a myriad of attractions.

Set on the promenade, with uninterrupted views across stunning Morecambe Bay to a backdrop of Lakeland hills and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Little Gem enjoys stunning sunrises and sunsets in high summer, ever-changing skies across the bay in winter and summer, fine weather or foul, it’s a fascinating sight.
This fantastic terraced property, over four floors, offers beautifully presented and very well appointed, spacious and comfortable accommodation. There are two good-sized en-suite bedrooms that benefit from superb sea views, and a south-facing sun room (snug) that opens onto a decked terrace.

There are many places to see and visit in the Morecambe Bay area in both winter and summer. Within easy reach are nature reserves at Leighton Moss, Brockholes near Preston, and Martin Mere, near Ormskirk.

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is a 45-minute drive away, as is the South Lakes. With the announcement of an ‘Eden Project North’ a possibility on the central promenade and miles of dedicated footpaths and cycleways on offer, there is clearly much to interest fresh air and nature lovers in the area.

For the more active visitor, there is both sea and coarse fishing locally, sailing, parasailing and two golf courses. For children, there are sandy beaches, free to use swing parks and play areas, local parks with paddling pools, water splash zones and a pay to use indoor bounce centre with trampolines. A list of local ‘tourist favourites’ is available on request, direct from the owners. Walking and cycling also feature strongly in the local area with miles of traffic free cycleways, footpaths and very accessible canal and riverside footpaths for a quiet country stroll or bike ride.

Dining out is well catered for locally with good food available within easy walking distance and beyond. For history lovers the historic Georgian city of Lancaster, with its fine architecture, historic castle and jail, the equally historic priory church, with stunning cross-bay views, and Williamson Park sitting high above the city. Sunderland Point, Conder Green and the marina at Glasson Dock, are all within a 30-minute drive. The quaint village of Heysham is also on the doorstep with the historic St Peter’s church and ancient stone carved grave site (thought to be Saxon) on the adjacent headland. Whether it’s walking, cycling or just relaxing and watching the world go by, Little Gem has something for everyone.

The house is also well served by bus and train, with a bus stop only 100 yards away on the promenade and two train stations within 1 mile with a frequent service into Lancaster and beyond. Shop 150 yards, pub ½ mile, restaurant ¾ mile.

    It certainly is a little gem with great sea views and a lovely garden to relax in no matter what the weather. The house was equipped with everything that we needed for a comfortable stay. The amount of stairs may be a challenge for anyone with mobility problems as the property is over four floors however with a bathroom on every floor except for the basement, the need for climbing can be kept to a minimum if necessary. The view from the top bedroom is amazing and you can see the Lake District on a clear day.

    Wonderful home, so relaxing and comfortable. It had everything you could need and the hosts were lovely people. I look forward to returning. Highly recommended.

    Our party had a great stay at this property, the Owners had thought of everything to provide us with a relaxing stay in this well equipped and comfortable home. A regular bus service runs yards from the property so we hardly used the car. Had a lovely trip by train to Arnside and Ulverston. As the house is situated on the Prom we spent many an hour walking, and then popping back to the property for a cuppa and then out again!

    A pleasant well equiped house with magnificent views. But not for anyone with mobility problems as it is situated on 4 floors. We were aware of this on booking but found the stairs quite steep especially those to the basement. We had no problems with parking as we were also able to use the space next door (also a property of the owner) but it is quite tight and access to the main road is sometimes compromised by cars parked too near the exit. Overall the house was well equiped with comfy beds, fluffy towels and a well presented kitchen. I could understand the previous comments about clutter, as there were many nicknacks, ornaments etc, but this did not get in our way although one felt it necessary to take care in some areas. We did not meet the owner but he gave clear instructions on the phone. Overall a pleasant week in a comfortable house with the added bonus of magnificent weather

    Wonderful cottage very well fitted and presented with views out of windows to die for. Lovely garden although as we were here in Jan/Feb weather to bad to use but in summer would have been wonderful to sit in. As we are in our 70s the only down side was the stairs to the kitchen but only a minor inconvenience . The owners couldn't be more helpful.
