A charming period cottage with a self contained small fenced garden which was perfect for persons with dogs. The cottage was comfortable and cosy and fairly well equipped but has not been given a glitzy modern makeover. The owner gave us a warm friendly welcome and helpful suggestions about the area. There is an abundance of attractions in the area and we hope to be returning again in the not too distant future.

We had a very pleasant four days staying in this most comfortable and well-equipped cottage, which was warm and attractive. We felt very much at home in it and were sad to leave. The owner was very considerate in supplying things we needed and was welcoming. The cottage was excellently situated for seeing our daughter who is at the University and was able to spend some time with us at the cottage; also it was well-placed for getting out to some of our favourite places like Whitstable, Botany Bay and the White Cliffs of Dover. We look forward to returning.

This is a great little cottage, if you don’t mind a few cobwebs & a lousy WiFi!

The cottage is in a great location, with public transport close by if needed. However the cottage itself is ‘tired’, and in need of some TLC. Kitchen: before we could have a drink, cups had to be cleaned as they were stained. Bathroom: grouting is grubby in some areas and badly applied. Shower screen dirty at bottom. Around the sink the grouting is missing, badly applied and grubby. There were many cobwebs on ceilings with spiders in situ. There was even a dead spider on one of the beds when we arrived. Proper cleaning and vacuuming would have easily rectified this. It’s noted that many of these problems have been mentioned before in reviews, and it appears nothing has been done, despite promises that they would be. The cottage could be a real gem if given a thorough spring clean in all areas, repainting and new carpet on stairs and in bedrooms – and cleaning maintained.
