Great place. Perfect for two. Very homely, extremely clean, light and airy. The cottage looks like it has recently been decorated. The furniture and fittings were of high quality. Great after a day out on our bikes to have a soak in the bath, plenty of hot water, and then a relaxed on the recliner chairs after eating in the lovely dining area. Location great, easy walk to either Windermere or Bowness. We loved our stay.

Ideal location within easy walking distance of both Bowness On Windermere and Windermere. Easy off road parking. Kitchen clean and well equipped. Plenty of hot water. Central heating very good but on/off times could not be controlled from within the apartment although radiator thermostats could be adjusted if we were too hot or cold when the heating was on, but if the heating was off there was nothing we could do about it and there was no other source of heating if it was cold during the "off" period. The dining room/garden room is really the entrance hall, small and rather cluttered and had no heating. Apart from the dining room, the apartment was quite gloomy with a hemmed in feeling, very cluttered with ornaments and a variety of other bits and bobs. The curtains were poor quality throughout and there was a general tired feeling to the property. Some noise from the floor above was noticeable such as a washing machine and particularly one evening loud noises between midnight and half past midnight which prevented us sleeping. Luckily, we stopped off for basic provisions in Kendal after a long journey as there was no welcome pack, not even a pint of milk! We did however find a packet of crumpets in the kitchen cupboard which were three days out of date! Can't remember the last time we rented a cottage that didn't have at least a small welcome pack. The kitchen and bathroom did have cleaning materials which was helpful but the emergency torch provided didn't work. To summarise, the apartment was in a great location, had all we needed for two people, the sofas and armchairs were clean and comfortable but the general décor was very tired and needs updating.

Cottage was OK, however we had no heating and the second night was rather cold. Contacted owner and she failed to reply. Still hasn't! There was also a connecting door which we could not lock from our side. Made us feel uneasy as there was direct access to our bedroom. It was also the only means of escape from bedroom if there was a kitchen fire and it had been locked from the other side. One or two other safety issues. Basin taps the wrong way around and the 'shower' was a bath mixer taps with no hot regulator. Also first time for many years no welcome pack.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments and staying with us in Lintel Dell, we have taken note of your comments and we would like address some of these. We have looked at the heating issue and we have discovered that due to the thermostat being in the actual boiler, the issue you were having were with the timer. We have now set the heating to certain times of the day for guests to enjoy our property comfortably. The connecting door would be locked as this is a storage cupboard used by myself for cleaning products etc. The basin taps are clearly shown which is hot and cold and we do apologise if this was an issue and there is no hot regulator as they are run from the bath where a leaver will switch from bath to shower. Again we’d like to thank you for these comments and we hope to see you again soon.

Lintel dell is a lovely little place to stay. It is the ground floor of a house with an added conservatory. You can park on the drive and then access is via a door further down the drive at the side of the house. There is a small patio with a table and chairs but due to the weather we didn’t use this. On entering the cottage you immediately come to the dinning table. A lovely bright spot for breakfast. There is a door to your right that opens into the kitchen/living area Very well equipped but the fridge is in the conservatory with the dining table (just remember to take your own condiments) tea towels are provided. The living area is a sofa and a chair. Both comfortable. Then it’s through glass doors to the bedroom. Very cosy (bit not small) lots of wardrobe space and then a lovely bathroom with bath and shower. You can hear the people who are staying/living above, especially when they use the stairs but it’s not intrusive and there was no noise during the night. Location; it’s around a 8/10 min walk to Bowness. Great when it’s lovely weather! Traffic can be heavy at the weekend when lots (and I mean lots) of tourists arrive (not complaining as that included us!) The house is in a side rd so there is no noise from traffic. I would definitely stay here again.
