Image of flowered streets not of the village. Cottage is tiny. Internal pictures deceptive. Fuel costs ridiculous for electric fire and gas hob .This needs to be included in costs so comparisons be made. Also tourist tax should be explained why towns in same area do not charge yet in Ligny you do.For what? It is not a tourist village. These charges add around 25% to the advertised price and must be made in cash with no receipt. No local amenities whatsover, not even bread or fuel.We knew that before from reviews and guess we thought it was not a deal breaker, it makes a difference.Maybe a daily bread, milk and eggs service be option on costs. Sleep not possible because of dogs barking all night. This is of no fault of the owners but non the less real their neighbours lock dogs in garden overnight. We like to sleep at night and had we known we would not have chosen this cottage. We paid the going rate for cottage and had a less than restful break Owners are helpful and nice but you are stuck with the problems once you are there.

Response on behalf of the Owner; We are very sorry to hear that you were not totally satisfied with your stay. We appreciate the feedback and it helps us continue to satisfy our guests. The image of the flowered streets are definitely of the village, not our street. We have reviewed the photos and we feel that they are an accurate reflection of the size of the cottage. We also feel that the consumption costs are fair, as we not only have a gas cooker with a hob, but we have an electric fire with an electric fan heater above. This payment also covers all hot water electric heaters in all the rooms upstairs. Next year the fuel costs will be inclusive in the rental. The tourist tax is applied in most of Europe, not just the Pas de Calais regions; they have been in force since the beginning of the year. This is paid to the local authority, it is a legal obligation, and we have no control over it whatsoever. These charges are stated on the website and if guests request a receipt, they can have one, of course. We apologise that there are no amenities in the village but we have a local town of Frévent 2.5 km away. Unfortunately, there isn’t much we are able to do about the barking dogs, they belong to the neighbours.
