Dating from the 18th century and originally a farmhouse, Les Lauriers has been carefully restored; the retention of its original features such as the massive beams, exposed stone walls and terracotta tiled floors captures the charm and ambiance of the old building. Accessible by a private road and set in its own substantial gardens with mature trees and flowering shrubs, there are terraces both at the front and at the back, so al fresco meals can be enjoyed in the shade or sunshine. The private pool and surrounding tiled patio area is a particularly fantastic feature of this property. There is also a selection of outdoor games and toys, a badminton net with two rackets, table tennis and a pétanque area.
If you are feeling adventurous, you can go kayaking or canoeing just 5 minutes away from the property. It is a short drive to the medieval bastide town of Monségur with its colourful market on Fridays, shops and restaurants under the colonnades in the square. Monségur is also known for its night market, which is well worth a visit. Explore nearby Duras, dominated by its 13th-century castle. Wine lovers will be able to discover the renowned vineyards of Saint-Émilion, Pomerol and Graves. The property is 40 minutes from Bergerac airport, 75 minutes from Bordeaux airport and only 30 minutes from Libourne TGV station.

Approximate distance to Bergerac airport is 56 km.

Some confusion over paying the local tourist tax. Instructions should be clearer on who to pay and when. House Manager spoke no English and our French phrase book didn't help much despite trying. Didn't feel welcomed particularly because of this and on departure day she arrived just after 9am whilst we were packing up to start cleaning and was very angry when we left due to the whole Tourist Tax debarcle (we think) House was very well equipped, however beds not fully made with pillows and covers just bottom sheet so had to go looking for quilts and missing 1 pillow so had to use a teddy. Lots of owners personal belongings around so it's not just a holiday house, but lots of signs to indicate what not to use etc. Ants in the kitchen. Monsegur which was a nearby town was lovely for earing out and was quiet and welcoming. Nearby supermarket also good.
