In an original Huguenot settlement at the end of a chalk track, this stunning stone farmhouse has all the amenities for a relaxing break.

Set in an original Huguenot settlement, this detached stone farmhouse with a Perigordine pigeonnier, has been restored to provide lovely holiday accommodation, with a spacious entrance hall, a light-filled bathroom with roll-top bath on the first floor, as well as an exquisite, bespoke, high-tech kitchen complete with chiller drawers, integrated wine cellars and top quality appliances. The house is situated in over 25 acres of protected woodland and pasture, excellent for long walks to neighbouring châteaux. The house lies at the end of a chalk track that runs through the small hamlet of Enguneau. It has a large garden with a huge expanse of lawn and a "loving seat" in a secluded spot, plus plenty of trees for shade. It is blessed with two wide, south-facing terraces overlooking the garden and a large, Asian-style swimming pool. There is a wooden cabin, perfect for children’s camp outs, table tennis and an outdoor fire pit for star gazing. Ideally situated between the historic towns of Bergerac, Périgueux and Sarlat with its many local vineyards.

Approximate distance to Bergerac airport is 5 km.

A group of us spent a week here and had an amazing time. The property is full of character, spacious and of a high standard throughout. There's the added bonus of a fantastic pool, grounds, gardens and a relaxing terrace for those al fresco opportunities. This property is rural and a car is essential but once you're used to the remoteness it becomes a relaxing and peaceful advantage. Nearest supermarket is a 20 min drive which wasn't a problem. Beautiful woodland walks on the doorstep of the property which includes a fantastic neighbouring chateau. The frustrating issue of this property is it could easily achieve 10 out of 10 it not for a few easy changes. Some sockets weren't working, batteries and bulbs needed replacing and the sink kept on getting blocked up. Some elements needed a little TLC including garden furniture. However this shouldn't put anyone off booking the property as it is simply amazing. Recommended places to visit....Sarlat, La Roque-Gageac, Beynac, Perigueux and Bergerac. Also highly recommend kayaking down the Dordogne river from La Roque-Gageac. Overall an incredible property and holiday.

The Chateau is a stunning property. The decor is to the highest standard, very French and distressed, chabby chic style. The kitchen in particular is stunning and has a great pizza oven that is well worth using. Also the property is fully equipped with Sky TV so even on the days where you've had too much sun, you can watch a movie and chill. The grounds and the pool are beautiful and very picturesque. There is a village patisserie around 3 miles away and a supermarket around 25 minute drive. There are restaurants scattered randomly in the little villages, including a great pizzeria around 15 minute drive away. Bergerac is the closest large town around 15 miles away and well worth a visit. The issues to be made aware of - take ant powder, there seems to be an infestation in the kitchen especially. Also the bedrooms, as amazing as they look, the mattresses aren't the most comfy, but each to their own I guess. All in all this was close to perfect - well worth a break away.
