Ashwood House are situated in the bustling tourist town of Callander. Situated in a quiet location, ideal for a couple for a relaxing holiday or a romantic escape. Adjacent to the golf course, woodland and riverside walks, and just a few moments stroll to the picturesque town centre with the River Teith passing through the centre. If you want to eat out, have a drink, or tea and cake, there is a good selection to choose from. The main street has interesting shops and galleries to browse, or you may just stroll along the river and enjoy the fabulous views.
Known as the gateway to the highlands and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, you are in the midst of splendid natural beauty and wildlife. For guests who enjoy outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, mountain biking, fishing, golf, sailing, water sports and bird watching, they are all available and all within easy reach. An ideal all year-round destination; during the summer months there is a variety of events, Highland Games and a traditional Scottish music festival and the scenery is spectacular in all seasons.
The area is steeped in history and folk law as this is Rob Roy country and there are historic and ancient sites to visit, including Doune and Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument and Inchmaholm Priory, not to mention whisky distilleries. Enjoy a cruise on the steam ship Sir Walter Scott on Loch Katrine which has been sailing on the loch for more than a century. The stunning surrounding scenery inspired Sir Walter Scott to write the poem ’Lady of the Lake’. For a stunning day out, Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow, all are readily accessible as are Glencoe, Loch Lomond, Oban and Perth.
