This charming stone-built holiday cottage can be found nestled on the outskirts of Kirkburton village, just 5 miles from the wonderful market town of Huddersfield, between the city of Wakefield and the market town of Barnsley. With calming, neutral décor and a good-sized garden backing onto open fields it makes a delightful retreat for a relaxing break in this wonderful part of West Yorkshire.
The interior boasts a lovely blend of traditional and modern decor, creating a cosy and inviting atmosphere. There’s a well-equipped kitchen and spacious living area plus an additional small, but perfectly formed, sunroom with dining arrangement. The cottage garden to the rear provides a tranquil spot to relax and unwind whilst enjoying the fresh countryside air. You can sit back on the garden furniture savouring a cup of tea whilst soaking in the beautiful surroundings. For those seeking a pampering experience, the cottage is affiliated with a local spa just 1 mile down the road which offers a range of beauty treatments at additional cost. Whether you’re looking for a rejuvenating massage, a refreshing facial, or a relaxing manicure the spa provides a chance to unwind and indulge in self-care. Please note availability will vary, so it’s recommended to book your treatments in advance to avoid disappointment. There are ample opportunities for walking and cycling right from the door, and then at the end of a long day exploring an award-winning farm shop and highly acclaimed bar and restaurant are both within a 5-minute drive. A highly acclaimed ice-cream parlour is also just a 15-minute drive.
This is an ideal location for visiting both the Yorkshire Dales and Peak District National Parks, with the ample amenities of both Huddersfield and Holmfirth just 20 minutes away. Holmfirth is most remembered from ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ fame but is also home to its very own vineyard and iconic music venue ‘The Picturedrome’. A ten-minute drive will take you to the National Mining Museum where you can take an underground tour, or the Yorkshire Sculpture Park - an internationally renowned open-air museum with a vast collection of contemporary sculptures, just 15 minutes away. In 20 minutes, you can be at either the Cannon Hall or The Hepworth Gallery and in 30 minutes the Royal Armouries and the grand stately home of Wentworth Castle. Finally, just under an hour away are the bright lights of vibrant Leeds, and just over an hour is elegant Harrogate and the historic city of York.
