Larroch Farmhouse is a beautiful, restored farmhouse is ideal for a large family or group of friends who wish to explore this picturesque area of Scotland.

This beautifully restored, detached farmhouse sits in an elevated position, on a working farm next to the owners’ home, with views over open countryside to the sea beyond. Larroch Farmhouse is within walking distance of the unspoilt beaches and rocky coves of Monreith Bay and St Medan golf links and close to the town of Whithorn, a former Royal Burgh, providing a variety of small shops, galleries, tea rooms and a pub.
Situated in the heart of Galloway amidst some of the finest scenery in southern Scotland, the farmhouse is ideally located to explore the breathtaking scenery and areas of natural beauty, wilderness and romance. From the Galloway Hills and the Galloway Forest Dark Skies Park, with their many hidden lochs, burns and waterfalls, to the beautiful Solway coastline with sandy beaches, rocky coves and picturesque villages to explore. Wigtown Bay Local Nature Reserve is the largest local reserve in the UK. It has internationally recognised numbers of pink-footed geese, greylag geese and many species of duck and wading birds visiting in autumn and winter. Visit the Interpretation Centre where you can view the Galloway Ospreys by video camera during their nesting season (April to August), or the local wetlands for the rest of the year.
Visit Wigtown, 13 miles away, officially designated as Scotland’s National Book Town and is a book lovers haven with numerous book shops. Enjoy browsing around the high quality gift shops, small gallery, excellent plant nursery and many cafés.
The southern Scotland regions boast an exceptional number of absorbing activities, whatever you’re after from spending a quiet afternoon with a rod and reel beside one of the area’s many excellent rivers, or pushing yourself to the limit along a challenging 7Stanes cycle track. Horse riding, golf, sailing, diving and numerous walks are available in the area and, with its famously mild climate and the balmy influence of the Gulf Stream, Galloway is home to some of the most beautiful and exotic gardens.     What a wonderful holiday home. It was perfect for our family, my mother has a disability so the down stairs room and wide doors really made the home accessible. My son is 2, there was plenty of space for him to play and the owner was incredibly thoughtful, leaving a booster seat and potty for him to use. The owner was very helpful and friendly, it seemed nothing was too much trouble. She left a lovely basket of treats and some milk for our arrival. The house, particularly the kitchen is very well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

    Excellent. Very comfortable with great views. Good sized accommodation. Would definitely go again, a gem.
