The cottage is owned by a very pleasant family. Overall it was adequate for our needs, though the double bed was uncomfortable, we had to layer it with other duvets etc to sleep. The cottage is in need of modernisation. The kitchen curtains were grubby and the windows needed cleaning too. Had we known there was no WiFi we would not have booked (We should have asked). The owner said she was considering putting WiFi on. It was our intention to use the computer to decide on what visits we would make each day. There was a very good open fire place that kept the cottage warm and dry. There was an enclosed garden that was useful for letting the dogs out. The comments are not a complaint to the family, but perhaps they would consider amenments that would improve the stay for future guests. The booking company should really be checking out the properties prior to renting and advising owners more effectively.

A lovely cottage on a working farm. Peaceful, lovely enclosed garden for the dogs. I am disabled (a double amputee) and I managed well apart from getting up from the bed which was a bit low for me. Friendly people and a lovely view with big skies across the fields.

Basic but comfortable. Friendly, welcoming owners. The children (and adults) enjoyed seeing the cows.

Beautifully situated and is surrounded by places of interest. We even got to watch the crops being harvested in the fields around the cottage. A wonderful holiday.

If you are looking for a proper getaway from the madding crowd, this is your cottage, the location and scenery are amazing. We saw 15 different Castles and Monuments in our week long stay. You are about 20 mins from the Scottish border. There is loads to do, but you will need a car. We will definitely be returning soon.
