Lovely weeks stay over Christmas at Lanthorn Cottage. We have been on holiday many times to Happisburgh and nearby locations, so know the area well and always have a fantastic time whenever we visit. The location was rural but that did not bother us, short walk over a field to the local shop, pub and beautiful beach. All of the equipment in the cottage was of a high quality, the newly fitted kitchen was a lovely addition, spacious and had everything we needed. We had a hot water issue but Ian the owner came out on Christmas Eve and sorted it. The only small complaint was the newly added downstairs toilet needs a radiator for the winter months as is very cold. Although, it did not concern us as we used the upstairs one instead.

Nice cottage in secluded area. Great for exploring all Norfolk has to offer. Cottage is comfortable and kitchen very well stocked with all cooking utensils. Lovely enclosed large garden. Beds were very comfortable.

Nice cottage in good location to all Norfolk has to offer. Well equipped and clean although it was obvious that previous occupants had brought a dog into the house as allergy flared. Downside to cottage was lack of heating that worked as temperature dropped some evenings.

Loved the garden, and the feel of the cottage. BUT. Chairs and settee very uncomfortable, lots of dust on living room floor, and mirrors etc. Window in back bedroom either wide open or closed, surely this must be a safety issue if children staying in cottage. It was advertised as dog friendly, actually is dog tolerant, with a list of things the dog cannot do or places it cannot go. Problems with hot water and shower which we were informed of when we got there, but no discount. Hedge trimmer appeared on the Monday, and said he would be finished in an hour. I had left my mother and dog in the cottage whilst we went for shopping. Hedge trimming went on for roughly 3 hours, and by the end of it our little old dog was very upset with the noise. If we had been warned about it, and again compensated for the inconvenience, it would have made for a better experience. This was out third visit to Norfolk which we love, and I would have liked to say I would go back to Lanthorn, but with the problems while we were there and their increased prices for next year, it has to be NO.

Lovely cottage, in an ideal location, but it’s in need of some TLC. It needs some redecoration and new carpets (the carpet on the stairs is threadbare to the point of the gripper rods starting to show). Generally well equipped but small things like bbq tools and long drinks glasses / pint glasses would have been useful to have.

House was smaller than it looks on the photo's. And the write up said the beach was within walking distance. When actually the beach access was washed away in December

A lovely old cottage, snug & cosy even on the worst weather the Norfolk coast can display! But on the good days, it's a pretty & peaceful cottage in a beautiful rural location.
