Holidays are what you make them! The cottage is well located for Kendal, accessing major roads for exploring wider area and has a few decent walks from the door. The cottage should have more specific information on local walks and events. The mattresses need changing and it should have been cleaner specifically the oven, the toilet in the 2nd bedroom and some of the crockery items were a but greasy.

Lovely cottage, very comfortable beds, good bath/shower rooms. Kitchen v good, though quite dark. Enjoyed the view from the lounge window and the sheep in the field. Didn't think the proximity to roads was a problem, nor was it overly noisy for us. I'd have happily sat outside if the weather had been better. Main drawback for us, and reason we'd not stay again (for a few years anyway), was that we hadn't realised the stairs down to the stone-tiled kitchen came directly off the lounge. This posed quite a problem for us with 2 small children. Really fab place though, especially for 2 couples.
