We had a great 4-night stay at Lambs Lodge and would certainly go back! Positives: Enclosed garden was perfect for our dog. The cottage was gorgeous and a great size for us, with wooden beams and a good-sized shower. My boyfriend loved the wood burner - we bought logs and kindling from the Rumwell's Farm Shop, but the owner of Lambs Lodge will also top up the basket of logs, kindling and newspaper for £3 if you don't use it as much as we did! The location was great, surrounded by fields and animals, next to the River Avon and in the small town of Bradford-on-Tone, where we had the most amazing meal at The White Horse Inn. We were lucky we got a table because it's obviously very popular with the locals! My boyfriend accidently left his jacket behind and the owner very kindly offered to mail it back to him, saving us an additional two-hour round trip on top of our journey home to go back and collect it - thanks Ian! Negatives (very minor and easily sorted): No hand wash or kitchen roll was provided, which we weren't expecting, but the local volunteer-run shop had everything we needed and much more in stock. We couldn't get the hot tub up to the correct temperature, but that was probably our own fault! We would definitely recommend Lambs Lodge!

had a really good time here and would like to return, it's about 4 miles from taunton and just under a mile to the closest bus stop and a cider farm, the owners kindly gave us some home reared eggs and some milk which was a nice touch, if you want a nice quiet week/weekend away you can't go much wrong, certainly for the price

Response on behalf of the owner; Many thanks, sorry about the grim weather but the hot tub definitely makes up for that haha. All the best.

The cottage was pokey, cold & uninviting. There was a radiator in the cottage, but where it was operated from was a mystery, there was also a wood burning stove but we had to purchase the wood from the owner, I thought heating was part of the price! Local amenities were few and far between, but what there were could only be reached along a narrow road with speeding traffic and no pathway, very dangerous. Sorry but it was all very disappointing. The hot tub which would have been very welcome after a long drive from E. Sussex was only tepid on our arrival. It was particularly galling to be taken to task on our arrival by the owner, for not having phoned ahead 30 mins prior to our arrival. We arrived on a Friday afternoon, turned around the next morning and went home.

We spent a midweek break at Lambs Lodge and what a wonderful time we had. Ian was very welcoming and told us all we needed to know and even brought us some milk and fresh eggs. Thank you Ian. The cottage had everything we required inside and out and we had lots of use out of the BBQ and the hot tub. Beautiful scenery and friendly locals added to a great break away. We will definitely look to come back sometime. Thanks a million. Steve and Debbie

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at lambs lodge. Well equipped with everything we could have needed. Ian was a lovely knowledgeable man that greeted us on arrival along with some milk, fresh eggs and even left a doggy treat :) It's so close to Wellington, Taunton and easy access from the m5 but feels very secluded and private. Lovely doggie walks, a nice cosy fire and a really amazing hot tub..... Only wish we could have stayed longer :(

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Many thanks Hannah, such kind words. Glad you all enjoyed your stay. Kind regards Ian and Katharine.

Great welcome, talked through everything we needed to know. Walks for the dog and location of supermarkets. Everything we needed was provided even down to welcome pack for the dog. After a day out walking it was a joy to step into the hot tub and then spend the evening curled up infront of the log burner.

Fantastic little cottage with private outside space. Log burner pumped out plenty of heat, whilst the bed was seriously comfy. As for the hot tub...OMG it was amazing. I could have spent the entire wknd in it, however did leave it for some wonderful dog walks and dinner at fantastic local pub which was in easy walking distance. Very welcoming hosts. Our dog Mack had a wonderful time and made some new buddies too. Will definitely aim to return, though for longer than two nights. Best UK short break we have had in many years. Bliss.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you very much Stella, we are so pleased you had a good time and look forward to your return. Regards Ian and Katharine.

This quaint little stables conversion is an ideal couples get away to either relax in front of the log burner or in the hot tub, or base to explore the west country. A short drive from town so you are not completely cut off from civilisation but far enough out to have complete peace and quiet. Ian the owner is a lovely chap and very helpful and made my wife and I feel very welcome during our recent stay.
