Description

This is a great base from which to explore the many attractions in the area, including Glastonbury Tor and Cheddar Gorge.

In a great location in south Somerset and near the west Dorset and Devon borders, these two semi-detached barn conversions are set in the owners’ grounds and offer an ideal place to explore this wonderful part of England. Cider Barn (ref UKC1321) which sleeps four and Apple Cottage (ref UKC1320) which sleeps two, can be booked independently or together, and both have use of the owners ½-acre paddock, where children will love to see the chickens, pigs and pygmy goats that the owner keeps. Within easy driving, one can spend lovely days out enjoying Forde Abbey and Gardens, an adventurous time at Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum or perhaps visiting the Haynes International Motor Museum. There are many historic houses in the area, and the south coast is within easy reach, where you can explore the famous scenic World Heritage Jurassic Coast, taking in Lyme Regis, Seaton, Sidmouth and Beer. Slightly further afield is the city of Exeter, with its cathedral, catacombs and shops, and the beautiful Blackdown Hills. Inland, one can venture into Somerset and enjoy Clarks Factory Village at Street, Glastonbury Tor, and on to Cheddar Gorge and Caves. There is also great country walking and plenty of village pubs to wine and dine in. Beach 10 miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

We enjoyed our stay at Apple Cottage which was in a tranquil settting, very comfortable and cosy. It was in easy reach of the coast, stately homes and gardens and interesting towns and villages. We would highly recommend it.

Really enjoyed the village location and the charm of the cottage. Owners were very friendly and we enjoyed trying some of the owner’s own produce! Would love to stay again in the future.
