The cottage is damp and smells musty as soon as you go in. Every time we came back we had to open all the windows to air it. My daughter really struggled with the damp and her asthma. The outside space is overgrown and poorly maintained. We spent as little time as possible in the cottage and in the end left early.

Response on behalf of the owner; I am sorry to learn that you did not enjoy your stay at my home. La Grange is a pretty barn conversion full of the original wooden beams, plasterwork and thick walls. Most of my guests see the charm in this and appreciate that old properties need the windows open on occasion. It is certainly not damp and smelly. I have a gardener who keeps the garden well maintained. It has an array of trees and hedging but that is the design of the garden. This layout allows shade and ensures a high level of privacy. My friend and his family have only just returned from a stay at my home and had a lovely time. I holiday there regularly with my children and have done so for the last 10 years. My daughter suffers from asthma, and I would not expose her to an environment that I felt in any way could exacerbate her condition. La Grange is located on the border of the historic Somme region, in a rural village amid beautiful countryside. I appreciate that what many find very appealing about that, others may not. A full range of amenities are found in the town of Hesdin, only a 10 minute drive away, and a pub/restaurant and shop are within a 5 minute walk.
