This was our 7th stay at La Grande Touche and as ever was everything that we wished for. The ultimate peaceful stay of being in the middle of rural solitude but with a tennis court a mile away and a charming little town of Brou with all its amenities, bars, restaurants and supermarkets three miles away. There is also a leisure park a couple of miles away. The gite is quite small and rustic but well designed with a well equipped kitchen. The satellite TV acscesses all English TV should you wish to watch. The grounds are the Jewel in the crown, extensive with orchard, vegetable allotment and boule area. The available free produce on the grounds changes with the months. Marilyne and Jean-Pierre are lovely attentive owners who after checking you in will leave you to get on with it although they are readily available (but off-site) should you need them. We were there in June this year during the record hot temperatures and without prompting Marilyne and Jean-Pierre delivered a top of the range portable air conditioning unit for the bedroom (there is permanent air con in the living area downstairs.) It is tempting to not give a review so as to not encourage competition for future bookings but I owe it to Marilyne and Jean-Pierre for their years of support and wonderful holidays that they have provided for us.

This was one of (if not) the best gites we have ever stayed at. The owners were there to welcome us and gave a thorough briefing as to where everything is. The cottage was brilliant, the only gripe was the lack of wireless, but I guess that is a real 1st world problem and in no way made our stay any less enjoyable. The local town of Brou has all the amenities for shopping and a quick coffee as well. We would both thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone who is looking for peace and tranquility.
