This period cottage is the perfect retreat for any outdoor enthusiast, situated in a peaceful village location which is popular with walkers and cyclists alike.

Ground Floor:
Living room: With wood burner, Freesat TV, Blu-ray player and Playstation 2.
Dining room: With wood burner and double sofa bed.
Kitchen: With electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washer/dryer.
Bathroom: With shower over bath, toilet and heated towel rail.

First Floor:
Bedroom 1: With double bed.
Bedroom 2: With twin beds (can be pushed together).

Electric storage heaters, bed linen and towels included. Initial logs for wood burners included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Welcome pack.

Enclosed patio area with garden furniture and BBQ. 2 pets welcome. Bike store. Private parking for 1 car; additional on road parking. Type 2 electric car charging point, 50 meters away. No smoking.

Situated in a peaceful location, this period cottage is set in the small rural village of Balmaclellan, within a hugely popular area for walkers and cyclists of all abilities, with the Dalbeattie 7 Stanes cycling trail close by. There are many sandy beaches and forest trails to explore throughout the area, and also many lovely gardens nearby for those seeking a slower pace of recreation. On the edge of the Galloway Forest Park, with its renowned Dark Skies appeal, the surrounding area offers a tremendous range of activities for visitors, with many beautiful sandy beaches and rocky coves to explore along the Solway Coast. Golf, sailing, horse riding, cycling, walking and fishing are all available, and there are tennis courts and swimming pools in nearby Kirkcudbright. Dumfries with shops, restaurants, museums and theatre lies 22 miles away, while Castle Douglas, Scotland’s Food Town, is 13 miles.

Cottage is comfortable and warm, plenty of entertainment options in the cottage. Beds are extremely comfortable & bedding is great quality which adds to the comfort. Host is helpful and lovely.
