English Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

Description

Enjoy a secluded setting, this delightful cottage is within easy reach of Hereford.

In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, these fine 18th-century converted farm properties (refs QPQ, RGF and UK10303) are reached via a private lane. They enjoy a peaceful secluded setting in the countryside set in the 3-acre grounds of the owners’ home, which includes a landscaped garden, woodland area and paddock, along with micro pigs. The holiday cottages each have their own garden or patio area, and are ideally situated for exploring Hereford and the black and white villages to the north, Ross-on-Wye, the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley to the east, and Hay-on-Wye, the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and Offas Dyke to the west.

Hereford is 7 miles away, and hosts plenty of shops, bars, restaurants and coffee shops. A must visit is Hereford Cathedral built in 1079. Steeped in history, it houses the Mappa Mundi, a medieval map of the world.

For the more adventurous, why not try canoeing on the River Wye, 11 miles away. There are village pubs locally serving good food. Shops and pubs 2½ miles.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 11 guests.

Lovely, tranquil setting, a stone's throw from Hereford and beautiful surrounding countryside, plenty of lovely walks and rivers, and the garden is idyllic!

As a party of four adults and one four year old we enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Knoll Cottage. The cottage is not huge and the facilities are fairly basic (no dishwasher) but there is a nice sun room looking on to a large garden and there were enough pots and pans etc to meet our needs. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable with adequate storage space. The cottage is on a farm which is situated in a beautiful part of the country with stunning views from the garden.

What a wonderful cottage and what wonderful hosts! I stayed here with 3 small children (all under 5) and there were plenty of things to enjoy in the local area, not least the goats and pigs at the bottom of the garden! We had everything we needed and Pauline was extremely helpful. The only (minor) issue was the lack of wifi but other than that we could not have asked for more. I would certainly recommend this accommodation to other people.

A lovely, comfortable home to stay in! Everything you need is in the house and the open plan kitchen and front room is a great social area. Thank you!
