Unfortunately the reason why I have scored lower on most is that the boiler for the heating and hot water was not working. We ended up using the immersion for the water and luckily the weekend was quite mild. However this caused a level of stress trying to solve. Also all the guests ( four reasonably intelligent adults) couldn't get the hob to work. (A lot of pressing but nothing happening). This was a shame as it marred an otherwise relaxing weekend.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Dear Martin, I was very disappointed to read your review and to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at Kittiwake. You contacted me the day before you left the property (a Sunday) to let me know about the boiler problem, but we were not able to send an engineer until the following day. However, you said that the house was warm enough due to the mild weather and that the water had been hot until that morning, and you were fine using the backup immersion heater. Nevertheless, I do apologise that the boiler developed a fault during your stay, although a simple re-set resolved the issue. With regard to your comments about the hob, I can only assure you that it was in full working order when we visited the property following your departure. I cannot explain why you could not get it to work, as it has never been a problem for any other guests. I can only imagine that you were pressing the padlock button, which locks the controls, although that is clearly marked and explained in the manual. Once again, I am sorry you feel that these issues meant that you did not enjoy your stay. We do take any fair criticism seriously and always strive to provide a good experience for our guests.

This is a fantastic holiday accommodation in the lovely little unspoilt village of Watchet. The facilities at the property exceeded my expectations. Everything is at hand for a very comfortable stay. Property even has views to the sea which is a real bonus. Only tiny negative is you have to park in the garage which is a tight squeeze. There is no on street parking as such but it's no big deal at the end of day. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again as everything you need is a short walk away.

Maybe cottage is the wrong word, however, it is a fantastic house. Everything you would need, good kitchen and comfy beds and large garage to stick the car away. Two minute walk to the good selection of pubs and shops.

As a family this was our 4th visit to Watchet, and with 6 of us travelling from Manchester we lik somewhere that’s home from home after a long journey. I can not fault kittiwake. Only small issue we had was the bin was already full with rubbish when we arrived although it says n the guide book that bin collection day varies it wasn’t emptied the week that we were there and so had to take the bin bags to the recycling centre, this wasn’t a massive issue just make sure the bags are sorted before hand as we were advised they don’t take general waste. We are already planning our trip again next year and if kittiwake is available then will hopefully be rebooking and I will definitely be recommending to family and friends

A fantastic house in the wonderful harbour town of Watchet with its independent stores and coffee shops, harbour and fossil beach. Lovely spacious house for our 2 teenagers. We would certainly go back. Downside The unlimited broadband was very slow even for one user at a time.

Lovely modern and cosy property with everything you need for a family break. Owner very helpful before departure with ideas for activities in the surrounding area. As mentioned by others, the garage entrance is tight but we got a Qashqai in without too much difficulty!
