Fantastic stay at Kintail thank you very much. A stunning location - the photos dont do it justice, the view changes every minute! The cottage is a little dated (albeit deliberate attempt to keep the fixtures fittings and furnishings in line with its original look.) Needs a comfy sofa to make it perfect - the existing one couldnt be any more uncomfortable! Other than that a really great location for exploring the Highlands and Skye.

Perfect location and a clean and comfortable cottage. Interior is a step back in time, but all equipment serviceable.

This cottage is in a stunning location overlooking Loch Duich & the Five Sisters of Kintail. However the cottage is in serious need of refurbishment. The dated decor does not appear to have been redone since the 1980’s. The cottage is very overpriced for what you get (apart from the stunning scenery) and does not even provide hand soap (which we had to ask for) and towels which you have to pay extra for. We have never stayed at a cottage before where this has been the case. This makes it seem very poor value for money. Although it is marketed as sleeping 6 (2 bedrooms each containing a double& a single bed) it only has one toilet/bathroom & this is downstairs. Finally, we did not feel very welcomed on arrival.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. I stayed in the property in May and there was soap for the guests use in the bathroom. I have spoken to Mrs Hannah who confirms she is providing it each week for guests. As only a very nominal amount is charged for towels, I do not propose to make any changes. I am sorry you did not feel you received a friendly welcome; I have mentioned this point to Mrs Hannah. The property is purposely furnished in a style compatible with the date of the house, 1952, when it was given by the Norwegian Government to Scotland.

A lovely, simple cottage. Ideal for dogs! Very well placed to explore the area. Was a little disappointed at first that it wasn't more remote and that there was a road in front of it - but over the two weeks we were there grew to appreciate its location more and more. Sitting eating breakfast looking out directly at the Five Sisters of Kintail was amazing - watching the weather change by the minute. We were able to get onto Skye, up to Applecross, down to Kinloch Hourn in day trips and there were many little gems like Glenelg, Sandaig, Glen Shiel, Loch Cluanie, Eilean Donan Castle and Loch Long just a short drive. Really, really wonderful break. One small note - the description says there is the open fire. There isn't.

We gad a great stay at Kintail. The cottage was clean and warm. I loved its very stylish look. I would recommend and I wish to stay there again.
