This property is part of our Wales Regional Cottages collection

The Wales Regional Specialist -Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Wales better!

Enjoying stunning views and close to the centre of one of North Wales’ best loved towns, Kinnaird is the perfect choice for couples looking for a calm and cosy escape.

Located next door to the owner’s home, this split-level, self-contained apartment has been thoughtfully planned and beautifully appointed to create a truly lovely holiday home. The ground floor living accommodation immediately welcomes you with its comfortable furnishings and warm décor, enhanced by the views over the Llangollen canal and surrounding countryside, which can be enjoyed from the floor to ceiling window in the lounge area. Its open plan layout maintains the feeling of spaciousness and there is plenty of room for relaxing. It’s the perfect place to just sit and watch the world go by. Remember to look out for the horse drawn barges that pass along the canal!

Stairs from the living area lead down to the bedroom which is lovely and bright thanks to the windows which run across one entire wall, giving 180 degree views over the garden and Llangollen beyond. The bedroom has a separate dressing area and a contemporary shower room which is very spacious. There are patio doors from the bedroom leading onto a private decked patio which is the ideal place for enjoying your morning coffee or dining on a warm summer’s evening. As well as the great facilities that are already provided, the property also benefits from a hairdryer, an iron, ironing board and a delightful welcome basket with local produce.

Although Kinnaird occupies a peaceful location, it is just a short walk into the centre of Llangollen with all of the town’s amenities such as bars, pubs, shops and restaurants right on your doorstep. There are many cultural events held in Llangollen throughout the year including theatre productions, festivals, cabaret and concerts. In July Llangollen hosts the annual International Musical Eisteddfod which brings in over 12,000 visitors. Llangollen is a walker’s paradise with many pleasant walks in and around the town including walks along the canal, Horseshoe Falls and Offa’s Dyke. The stunning Horseshoe Pass is just half a mile from the property.

Part of a World Heritage Site, Llangollen is located on the River Dee and dates back to the 7th Century. There are several interesting and historic buildings in and around Llangollen including Crow Castle (Castell Dinas Bran), the 13th Century Valle Crucis Abbey and Plas Newydd. Thomas Telford’s Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, which carries the canal 126ft over the River Dee, is also worth visiting.

Llangollen Railway is the only standard gauge heritage railway in North Wales. Steam or diesel trains operate regularly from the centre of Llangollen to Corwen, a relaxing 10-mile journey. Other activities available locally include fishing, golf and clay pigeon shooting. For the more adventurous there are several companies that organise outdoor activities such as white water rafting, kayaking, canoeing, gorge walking, abseiling and rock climbing.

Whilst Llangollen has a lot to offer it is also well placed for visiting lots of other places too and makes a great base for a touring holiday. The National Trust has several properties within a short drive including Chirk Castle, 7 miles, and Erdigg Hall, 10 miles. Other places of interest within easy driving distance include Ruthin, 16 miles, Snowdonia, 32 miles, the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno and the Great Orme, 46 miles. Cross the border into England, it’s just 24 miles to Chester, around an hour’s drive to Liverpool or 30 miles to the market town of Shrewsbury.

Well what can we say that hasn't been said before. The accommodation is excellent and immaculate. Tina is a courteous, polite and kind host who has given great thought to her apartment. She has thought of everything that you could possibly need. The location was perfect and just a 5 minute walk into Llangollen. We will certainly return and recommend the apartmentbto our family and friends. Thank you Tina for a wonderful weekend in Llangollen.

Kinnaird is a beautifully comfortable cottage. Tina is friendly and welcoming hostess; she gave us lots of information about the cottage and the area. We could see the canal from the cottage and had an enjoyable 2 hour horse drawn boat trip along it. We had a tasty meal at Tres Amigos and would recommend that restaurant. The little town of Llangollen is interesting and easy to get around. There are many other sites nearby; we visited the aquaduct and Chirk viaduct (the tallest). We'll definitely come back; it was very restful.

This was the easiest review ever - just tick 10 , 10 , and on !!!! Tina has provided simply one of the best accommodation you would wish for . Look at the visitor book it's all been said by everybody . We would just add that we have not seen so much thought applied to anywhere we have stayed for the comfort of Tina and Steve's quests . Thank you for a too short lived stay . Very best regards Kathy & Stu ( 30th July - 3rd Aug )

Kinnaird has everything that you need. We had a great week - the apartment is very comfortable and the view from the bedroom window is amazing. The apartment is close to all the local amenities, the railway and the canal path. To top it all Tina had prepared a lovely welcome basket for us. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment.

You will want for nothing at this spotlessly clean and conveniently situated apartment close to the town and with stunning view. There is nothing that Tina hasn’t thought about. A warm welcome awaits you - Tina is the hostess with the mostess- can’t wait to return.

We couldn't fault the apartment, the owners were very friendly, but not over bearing. Llangolin is a beautiful place with everything you could wish for. There's a steam railway and horse drawn/motorised barges within easy walking distance. The only fly in the ointment is the very steep hill down to the village.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for the review. So glad you enjoyed the apartment. There is a footpath to the town behind the canal wharf which is accessible for wheelchairs, pushchairs and less abled walkers.

Waking up to that view would get it 10/10 on its own but this is a fantastic little place, home from home, spotlessly clean , stylish. Tina has done it just perfectly, looking forward to staying again as we certainly haven’t exhausted the area.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your words. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and will see you both again in the winter months.
