we do not make a habit of making comments against properties, although this year has caused us to do so. This emphasises the need to detail the bad as well as good points on a let. good points: as detailed above. let down for the owners was that the downstairs wooden floors to lounge and kitchen were filthy and we had to go out get floor wipes and clean them on arrival - dog biscuits, hair and whatever made brown and dirty marks on the floor. The kitchen, being small, needs to be wiped over regularly to control grease build up on doors and shelves, apparent that this had not been done. We cleaned areas we used, kept it to a minimum, as we did not want first day to be cleaning day. such a shame from the point of view of first impressions. We put it down to dog owners not caring about the state of the floor, and the owner not doing a quick clean when they checked it. upstairs was good. Second bad point, the rear of the property surrounded by high blocks of flats- did we miss this on your description. more care needs to be given , we do not all bring dogs with us. perhaps it should be dog owners only.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Difficult to reply to such a dreadful review without sounding argumentative or defensive but here goes. Very surprised at this 8 out of 10 review by the couple from Bexhill. Along with the access code we, as always, said to just let us know if any questions or issues. Nothing heard. Had we been contacted we would of course sorted any issue. Plus we leave a floor mop, Dyson hoover and cleaning supplies in case guests need them during the stay so the suggestion of going to by wipes is bizarre. In our 5 years’ experience, we’ve found dog owners have without exception left the property in a very clean condition. Cleaning in between guests is only done by ourselves and reflected in the review scores. Finally, when in the enclosed private courtyard, there is no building in any direction higher than our own townhouse. With regards suggesting our description is misleading - All property pictures and descriptions on the websites are done by Cottages.com’s very experienced Regional Managers and reviewed at their annual inspection.

Very warm & cosy house, tucked away but close to everything you need & great for walks along the seafront. A busy area, but not affected by noise & an off road parking space.
