Kingfisher Cottage is tucked away close to the river in this pretty, picture postcard village, popular with locals and visitors with great café’s and friendly village pubs. Everything is within walking distance in the village, so a stroll to the hillside castle, friendly village shop or one of the three good pubs in the village is a pleasure from this welcoming cosy cottage. Kingfisher Cottage is blessed with a good size lawned garden for relaxing which is unusual in this part of the village and has part castle views from some of the windows. The cosy wood burner is ideal for those cooler evenings and Kingfisher Cottage is perfect for couples or a small family of three with a generous double bed in the single room. The energetic can walk along the river to the very popular small town of Amble, only 2 miles away, with a hugely popular Sunday morning market, harbour, pod style shops, fish restaurants and marina. Cyclists are also well catered for with a convenient bike store.
Alnwick Castle is only 7½ miles away where a day can be spent at the Duchess’ water gardens and a trip into the castle (seasonal) famed for some Harry Potter scenes. The Heritage Coastline, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stretches from here up to Holy Island, 33 miles away, where you can cross the causeway and step back into time. The coastline has miles of golden, unspoilt and often empty beaches awaiting, peppered with historic castles and friendly Northumbrian villages. Don’t forget to take a day trip south or west, taking in Hadrian’s Wall or the glorious Northumberland National Park, all easily accessible from Kingfisher Cottage. The local train station less than 4 miles and is perfect should you wish to jump on a train to Newcastle, Edinburgh or York with the trip to Edinburgh being particularly pretty along the coast. Beach 1 mile. Shop 800 yards, pub and restaurant 350 yards.

Excellent location for visiting attractions of Northumberland. Close to pubs and shops of Warkworth. The cottage is ideal for a party of three and was cosy in the evenings after a day out. The closed garden was ideal for our dog. Well equipped kitchen.

Beautiful enclosed garden ideal for dogs. Lovely Summer house. Well situated for lovely dog walks by the riverside. Poorly equipped though with cleaning materials eg dishwasher tablets,washing-up liquid, toilet rolls. Though not essential s welcome pack would be a nice touch.

Absolutely beautiful cottage in a nice village with everything on your doorstep - except a chippy, which is a mile and a half away in Amble Fantastic garden to laze about in and the dog loved it

Lovely house, immaculately presented with everything we needed for our stay. The large enclosed lawned garden was ideal for our dog, we could relax knowing she was safe. The only downside to the cottage was the downstairs bathroom but this was a minor inconvenience.

Lovely clean property perfect for a couple and a dog. Great location, walking distance to great restaurants and pubs, fabulous walking routes on your doorstep. A dog owner's paradise. Everything that you would need is in the cottage. Very quiet nd private. Great garden for outside dining and pooch to explore. Would love to come again, but will need to bring own hairdryer next time!

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you very much for the comment, an oversight on our part as newbies. Hairdryer now in the main bedroom dressing table drawer. Enjoy.
