Access to the countryside from a footpath next to this Grade II listed cottage, is just ideal for dog walking, as well as the coastal path which is close by.

This charming Grade II listed cottage lies in the old village square of St Columb Minor. Kimberly House combines traditional Cornish character with modern comforts. In the large enclosed garden there is a games room with a table football and a patio with picnic bench and sitting-out area. The village has its own pub, church and shop and sits only 1 mile away from the sandy, family friendly beach of Porth. A footpath leading to the countryside, ideal for dog walking, starts opposite this terraced holiday cottage. At Porth beach you will find a café and a pub both looking out over the sand. With Newquay’s seven beaches and Watergate Bay’s 2 mile stretch of golden sand, surf schools are a plenty. For food lovers, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant is a must. Other activities close by include horse riding, sea fishing, golf, zoo, sea life centre and the coastal footpath. A little further afield lies the traditional working fishing harbour of Padstow where Rick Stein’s food empire resides. The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are also within easy reach. Shop ½ mile, pub 100 yards.

    Beautiful cottage in quiet village location within close proximity of both porth and Newquay and an amazing short walk to porth beach. Couldn't wish for more this property exceeded our expectation

    Absolutely lovely cottage. Everything you need and more. Comfy beds , clean , and lovely garden. Very central area.

    We spent a lovely week at Kimberley House in April. Positives - Wonderfully comfortable beds - all agreed - Large spacious dining room with a table big enough for all - Large secure garden with garden furniture and rotary dryer - Relatively well equipped kitchen with just a few issues (see negatives) - Short (ish) walk to the beach and to the coastal path - Cosy lounge with enough seating for all - Friendly pub just up the road - Shops of Newquay just a short drive away - Large Co-op in the village Negatives - Smelt a bit doggie, I wouldn't want to stay if I didn't have dogs of my own. - Parking near the cottage is impossible, the square in front of the cottage was always full for the whole week we were there. However, we parked in the church car park (which is allowed) and that was fine. - Saucepans were all tiny, not able to cook something like a curry or chilli for the whole family - As always in holiday cottages the knives were useless, really need replacing or sharpening.

    Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. Parking is not private and is typical safe village parking, sometimes requiring a maximum 2 minute walk to your car. This is explained again by my husband on the phone when key details are given. We have now added a stock pot, sharpened the knives and left a knife sharpener for guests use. Cleaning at the property is always excellent despite the occasional doggie smell which cannot always be avoided in dog-friendly accommodation.
