Holly View Annexe is an outstanding holiday home on the Isle of Skye, perfect for a short break or a week. The owners are members of the Association of Scottish Self-Caterers and you can be assured of a great holiday. Situated on the outskirts of Portree, Holly View Annexe is only half a mile to the centre of town with its attractive harbour, characterful streets and numerous restaurants and hotels and food outlets. There is use of an electric car charging point at the property for guests with hybrid or EV cars, at cost price. Being on the edge of Portree and set in the mature gardens of Kintaraglen House gives enviable views to the Cullins and of the surrounding Scottish moorland hills, typical of northern Skye. The best of both worlds, and an ideal place for relaxing after exploring the island. Portree is centrally located on Skye and a great starting point to explore the vaious ’wings’ of the island. Only five minutes from the Old Man of Storr and fifteen from the Kilt Rock, Mealt Falls and on to the Quiraing and the other highlights of the Trotternish peninsula. That’s just for starters, to the west you have the joys of the Waternish, Duirnish and Minginish peninsulas to explore too, each with their own charm and all with fabulous views.
Blessed with superb fine dining, gourmets can chhose from The Three Chimneys, Edinbane Inn, Lochbay Seafood restaurant, Kinloch Lodge and a multiude of wonderful restaurants, coffee shops and cafés, Skye has several renowned distilleries; Talisker perhaps the best known. The Fairy Pools are close to Carbost and the distillery and visiting them edge you into the Cuillin mountains. The Cuillin are only nine miles south of Portree, and are often visible from the town. There are countless routes to be walked and climbed throught the island, some well known others peaceful gems. A highlight that many don’t make time for is a trip to Loch Coruisk hidden away in the heart of the Black Cuillin. You can walk to the loch, but it’s a long and arduous journey. Better is to drive to Elgol in the south of the island and take a boat into the mountains. It’s a magical, misty tour! The south of the island is very different to the north, but still worth exploring. Elgol is picture perfect, and beyond the mountains the Garden of Skye, the Sleat Peninsula awaits with its crofting settlements and hidden beaches. Holly View Annexe is truly the ideal base for a Skye holiday. Beach 7 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
The Garden Wing can be booked together with Holly View Annes (UK32205) and The Garden Cottage (UK32206) to accommodate up to 8 guests.

The ideal Skye holiday base! We fell in love with Holly View at Kiltaraglen as soon as we arrived - Pam was a welcoming host, and the thoughtfulness with which everything has been arranged for the comfort of guests is really striking. Exploring Portree itself is easy - as it is just a short walk from Kiltaraglen, and there are some super walks (such as the Scorrybreac circuit) which are really convenient. (It's also a great starting point from which to head out and explore other parts of Skye). We couldn't have wished for anything more - Holly View was just perfect.

The house was exceptional. Very nicely organized and equipped. The hosts were very kind and supportive. We also had to manage traffic issues and could arrive only very late in the night, but the house was accessible and ready with lights on. Big beds in a big bedroom including an in-room bathtub. Nice gardens. Only a small negative aspect: the bathroom is downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. The location is just on the border of Portree, 15' walk from the center, with personal parking. The price was quite high.
