Kestrels was originally a milking parlour dating back to the mid 1800s and is now a well presented, detached granite holiday cottage with sea views, in an exceptional setting amidst National Trust moorland, within approximately ½ mile of Cornish Coastal Path. This is a much loved location considered by some as the ‘wild’ part of Cornwall. Within easy reach of St Just, Zennor, St Ives and Penzance. Morvah is 1 mile, Pendeen with a well provisioned shop 2 miles, and the beautiful Portherras Cove is 1½ miles near the lighthouse. There are stunning sea or rural views from any window. The famous Gurnards Head gastro pub is 1 mile and Rosemergy Farm, offering Cornish cream teas in their lovely garden with sea views. Shop 2 miles.

Absolutely perfect. This was our 2nd stay and we were made to feel as welcome (by the owners) this time round as our last visit. Kestels is an absolute gem of a find; quiet, warm, spacious and as cosy as you could want. The beauty of the rugged Cornish countryside is on your doorstep at Kestrels, with the wild Atlantic ocean but a short walk away. Shops and pubs are close enough by car, so are not too close to spoil the tranquility of the quiet Cornish nights when settling down in front of the log fire. The Gurnard`s Head restaurant is a must, this is our first visit when at Kestrels. If you also like fish & chips, "Lils Chippy" in Pendeen is a visit that must be made.

Kestrels feels like a home from home. Everything you think you might need has been provided for. The woodburner makes the house feel cosy. The location is wonderfully quiet allowing for a good nights sleep. Nick and Sheralyne are friendly hosts who do their best to be as helpful as possible. We thoroughly recommend staying here.

We loved our stay at kestrels, beautiful home in a beautiful location with everything and more provided at the cottage. We went out most days for drives due to my mum being unable to walk very far and its up a hill which is perfect for people who enjoy walking. Owners very helpful and lovely and would love to visit again soon

We had an amazing stay at Kestrels. We were looking for a secluded Cornish cottage for a romantic holiday, away from the buzz of the city. Kestrels did not disappoint. The cottage is beautifully decorated throughout, comfortable and well equipped (we were able to use the bbq and outdoor dining area), it felt like we were staying in a "boutique" hotel. The cottage offers nice views all round, lots of stunning coastal walks and places to visit within a few miles drive (St Just, Cape Cornwall, Lands End, Sennen Cove, Minnack theatre and Porthcurno beach, Mousehole, St Ives, Penzance). There was lots to do and explore in a week. It is set in a hamlet of 5 houses, so quite an isolated and very quiet location but this was perfect for us. Our hosts provided useful advice on where to shop for fresh seafood and Cornish specialities, and good restaurants in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and can't wait to be back.
