Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Situated in the Gloucestershire countryside and with the Forest of Dean on the doorstep, Jourdens is ideal for walking and cycling holidays.

Jourdens is a converted coach house and stable, set on a working farm and nestling on the edge of the village of Longhope with the beautiful Forest of Dean nearby. This thoughtfully designed, detached holiday property incorporates characterful accommodation and a delightful garden which has a patio with garden furniture and countryside views. Adjacent to the owner’s home, it is ideally situated to enjoy this fantastic area. Activities such as horse riding, cycling, canoeing, clay pigeon shooting, rock climbing, golfing and fishing are all available locally. For those who enjoy walking, there are wonderful walks from the doorstep of your holiday home, including the May Hill countryside walk. Being so centrally located, many desirable towns, villages and cities can be accessed within an hour, including Gloucester and its cathedral, which was used as a film location for ’Harry Potter’, and Regency Cheltenham, famous for its many festivals including winter horse racing. Hereford and Ledbury are well worth a visit with their many black and white timbered buildings and the popular shopping destination of Worcester. There are many attractions to visit including Go Ape Treetop Adventure, Puzzlewood and the Steam Railway. Local pubs are within walking distance, one of which specialises in homemade pies, has a delicatessen and a homemade ice cream parlour. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

This cottage is lovely and the owners very friendly and helpful. Could do with new furniture in the lounge as it is not very comfortable to sit on. Also could do with a mirror in the downstairs bedroom (next to an electric socket!).

We loved the property but it needs more comfortable furniture in the sitting room enabling guests to properly relax .The bedrooms were lovely, beds comfortable and a high standard of cleanliness was evident throughout. The setting is private and peaceful and owners helpful. A lovely corner to escape to. The bread and cakes were very welcome, thank you.
