Really enjoyed my stay at Jackdaws and found the property well appointed and a very pleasant place to be. The property is situated in a peaceful location away from the main road which has little traffic on it anyway. St Fillans has one small shop for basics but Comrie, 5 or 6 miles away, has more to offer and a delightful deli / coffee shop. My only criticisms of this stay is that the property isn't obvious to find as the sign on the main road has been obscured by foliage and I'd have expected the owner to meet me on the first day to ensure everything was in order but that never happened. I'd highly recommend Jackdaws for a quiet / romantic time away or as a base for exploring the stunning Perthshire area.

Possibly the best holiday we've ever had! Such a lovely cottage set in the most beautiful location. Great walks for the dog on the doorstep and the owner made us so welcome and provided lots of local information. Really friendly village and a dog-friendly hotel & restaurant just a few minutes walk away, and the nearby Callander is also very dog friendly with several shops and cafe's welcoming four-legged guests. We've loved it so much, we've already booked to come back next year!

Lovely cottage in an amazing location. Very suitable for dogs and baby. Unfortunate that the brewery was closed for refurb. Great location to go out and about.

Great cottage in lovely location. The hosts were very friendly and the eco fitting was great. The local amenities were unfortunately closed for refurb but there’s nothing can be done about that, had plenty of other places to go. Great walk and wildlife and even had great snow Thank you

This was not our first time staying at Jackdaws and will certainly not be our last. My wife and I just love the peace and quiet of the location and is perfect for relaxing and walking with our dog. The cottage is really comfortable and provides good space for the 2 of us.

We had a lovely stay and for a relatively new build the house has plenty of character. Log burner was a real plus point - we were almost too hot! Some great local scenery and walks Ben vorlich etc. Shower was fantastic and everything very clean and comfortable. If we were going to suggest anything the addition of a few extra kitchen utensils such as some smaller beaker type glasses for oj/whiskey and maybe a couple of smaller pans. Overall a lovely stay we would definitely like to visit again.

The cottage has everything you could wish for and is very comfortable. The log burner is an added bonus however the heat doesn’t spread to the bedroom which means it is fairly cold. The cottage is well set back from the road with in the owners grounds which means it is very quiet. The village is very beautiful with lots of different walks. We enjoyed a trip to Crieff and loved the food hall. We would definitely recomend.

We loved it so much we came home and booked for next year. A lovely peaceful place to stay that we look forward to visiting again. Only negative was our dog was too warm with under floor heating but he is a hairy Samoyed. We like the wee garden room too.

Heating in cottage was minimal, cold in morning and no access to heating controls. Constant noise from bathroom system. views of surrounding area very good but at times too remote and postcode given for address, does not take you to cottage, but, to a newly built housing estate. Additional directions sketchy, sign you are told to look out for is covered by greenery, after 4.5 hours drive spent a good 1/2 hour finding cottage after arriving in St Fillan, after knocking on a persons door in the village and asking where cottage may be? No instructions for cooker/appliances.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jackdaws. The cottage was beautiful and in a lovely peaceful location. It was a well laid out property, a very comfortable bed and sofas. The log fire was very comforting on a cold night. The little sitting area in the lean to is lovely with the fairy lights and there is a little freezer provided in there. The nights are very dark as there is very little light pollution so you can see the stars very clearly. You can hear the owls at night here too. We were also visited by the pheasants in the garden too. The property is one of 6 - one belongs to the owner, 1 is a residential house at the entrance and the other 4 (including Jackdaws) are holiday lets, one tucked away behind the owners home and not visible from the cottage. Its very peaceful and maintains a lot of privacy. The kitchen wasn't as well equipped as it could be, it really needs some smaller pans, some additional cutlery, and some tumblers and/or pint glasses. The bathroom was definitely a 'wet' room - it could do with some protection for the toilet and watch out as the floor can be a bit slippy. The cottage is very warm, the heating is on permanently, the underfloor heating is nice. We found that despite the high ceilings, it was very warm but there are lots of windows to open too. There is also a little drip in the lean to next to the door from the guttering. The boiler also makes a constant noise which does eventually fade into the background and when the doors are closed, you cant hear it at night. There is a lot of information in the property as to the surrounding area, things to do and places to eat. There is also a little bird watchers log for if you see anything and know what you are looking at. A very clean and comfortable place that we would love to come back too.
