Me and my husband spent a week in this cottage full of charactor. It was very well equipped with everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable with great views from the main bedroom window. The cottage is located with the tram station at the bottom of the road which takes people up and down the great Orme. You can also get the cable car from near Llandudno pier but we walked as it was sunny and the views were well worth it.The main town and Llandudno pier are a short walk away with a massive choice of places to eat and pubs. The Local places such as Conway, Angelsey, Betws-y-coed and Snowdonia national park are easily reached by car,bus or train. We had a brilliant stay and would definately recommend it to anyone going to North Devon.

Nice little place could do with up dating and parking very tight

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; The cottage is intentionally decorated in a 60s, old-fashioned look, as you can see within the photographs on the website. The parking can be a little tight if the bins are situated in the wrong place.

Iola is a delightful, old cottage approached by a flight of steep steps (the only downside really) above a road above Llandudno town. There is a very pleasant terrace where you can sit and have your meals or a drink etc. overlooking a wonderful view of Little Orme, the Conway estuary and Llandudno itself. In spite of its closeness to the town, it is beautifully quiet, apart from the odd calling seagull. The kitchen and rooms are well equipped, and to us it had everything we needed. There is a stable door to the cottage, and we found this very useful as it was a hot week, and we were able to sit with the top of the door open until late into the evening which was lovely. The bedroom was quite large and the bed comfy, just to my taste as I prefer a harder rather than soft bed. The only things we could fault was the TV which for some reason occasionally had a tantrum and the picture would go. This happened on three evenings in the middle of our break, but after that it suddenly seemed to right itself and behaved perfectly for the rest of our stay. Also the handle on the grill pan had broken, but this was nothing to worry about really. The bathroom was maybe a wee bit on the small side, but in an old cottage like Iola you wouldn't expect a huge bathroom. It was fine for us anyway. We'd certainly recommend the cottage to anyone who was fit enough to climb the stairs, and liked peace and quiet. Our neighbours were friendly too.

We enjoyed our stay, but we had to get back to South Wales on Thursday because of the snow. The cottage was superb and will definitely like to come back . We had to rush to get the last train home from Llandudno to Cwmbran and wasn't able to tidy up properly before we left . We had a 20 minute notice to pack up and leave. The log fire was our favourite part and the views were stunning.

The cottage is close to the town centre which is handy. The cottage was clean and warm. Nothing was too much trouble for the landlord.
