This is a superb location for a family holiday, hidden away in Invertrossachs in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. There are some excellent mountain walks locally with Ben Ledi, Ben Venue, Ben Lomond, all within a short drive. There is a local golf course in Callander and several excellent courses within an hour’s drive, including Gleneagles. Nearby Callander, a Victorian tourist town and famed for being the location for the original TV series of Dr Finlay’s casebook, is a good place to enjoy a meal or drink, stock up with supplies and some general retail therapy.
Bonnie’s Bothy (UKC2132) is a detached cottage and is perfect for a couple, in a quiet location with a private enclosed decked area with table and chairs, perfect for the summer months. My family are so glad we booked Grace's Cottage for our get-together, 8 members ranging from 5 months to 83 years and everyone thoroughly enjoyed our visit from 2nd-9th June 2018. The website description is accurate, and the booking process was very efficient, via email. Two days before departing I also received a personal message from the owners David & Jean, with detailed travelling directions and mobile number to contact anytime for advice or assistance. Our arrival fortunately coincided with beautiful sunny weather; the trip to the cottage revealed the spectacular scenery along the route. Jean met us on arrival with a warm and informative welcome. The cottage is stunning and certainly had the 'wow' factor; making everyone feel happy, excited and relaxed right from the start. The cottage and furnishings are beautiful, and it is very well appointed; nothing has been left to chance, reflecting on the thoughtfulness of the owners and a high level of customer care. This was further enhanced by the presentation of a large, quality welcome basket, which was very much appreciated. What is not to like, with nature at its best; deer, red squirrels; herons; ospreys and other abundant bird life in a stunning setting. We had a wonderful time and were all sad to leave. We hope to re-visit for another calm and rejuvenating experience. Highly recommended. Thank-you.

We thought Grace’s Cottage was brilliant in every way. It suited our party perfectly, 5 adults and a dog, we only used three bedrooms, so we all had an en suite shower room. The family bathroom came in handy too for post-walking bath soaks. The cottage was beautifully and comfortably furnished and in a lovely position, near enough to Callander for easy access to amenities, but remote enough to feel off the beaten track. Stirling was in easy reach, and we stopped off at the large Sainsbury’s there to do our main shop on our way to the cottage. The only slight snag for us was that the garden wasn’t enclosed. There was hardly any traffic on the road past the cottage, but even so we had to keep our dog on an extended lead as she is attracted to cars. There was lots of wildlife around. Birds nesting in the cottage eves, a heron and a dipper fishing just beyond the bridge each day and one morning a pine marten strolled past along the road. Another positive was the really well equipped kitchen, with lots of pots and pans and range cooker...great for catering for a large party. We ate in most evenings. We had lunch at The Lake of Mentieth Hotel on our final day, which we recommend if you want something a bit special. The Lade Inn was good too - very friendly with standard pub fare well done. We also recommend the cakes at Venachar Lochside. Lots to do in the area too. As well as visiting Stirling and doing some hill walking we visited Loch Lomond, taking the ‘on demand’ ferry from Balmaha to the Isle of Inchcailloch, went canoeing on Loch Ard and visited Doune Castle. The Brachlinn Falls at Callander are also worth visiting. Our only disappointment was the day we drove to visit Scone Castle only to find it closed for the day, which the information leaflet on Scone didn’t mention. On our way home we stopped off at the Falkirk Wheel. We thought if we visited again it would be worth spending more time there, as it was easy to get to and lots of activities including boat trips.
