On the positive side, this is a large property and the 3 bathrooms are a real plus. However, there were negatives when we were there. The property was clean on arrival, but the worktops in the kitchen needed a once over which was done by us (crumbs at the back). There was a significant musty smell in all the kitchen cupboards, which was unpleasant. We found the kitchen to be poorly stocked with mugs etc. In the living room there was an unpleasant musty/urine smell. We located where this was and found it to be an area with a strong stale urine smell. I couldn't sit in one of the seats on the sofa for the duration of the holiday as it was unpleasant. The doors rattled when a window was left ajar upstairs as they aren't fitted well enough into the keepers and the carpet is a few millimetres short near the skirting board on the landing. We complained and the owner visited us but could only offer apologies and no compensation which we didn't think was good enough. We complained again when at home and received the same response. Overall, you're paying for the size and location of the property, not the finish, which is lacking in some areas and feels 'done on the cheap' for the price you pay.

Great place to stay at one thing we did not like was we had no control over the heating so as it was freezing the first weekend we arrived we had to keep asking for the heating to be put on and then when it was warmer during the week we had to go round turning all the radiators off so much easier with a thermostat.

We had a lovely week caretaker was very helpful and pleasant. Cottage was comfortable and it was spotless when we arrived. Only problem we had was a couple of Nieghbour’s parking made it a bit awkward to get in and out of drive. But hay you get that everywhere. But we had a fab week and will be back as it was fantastic.
