Rudyard Lake is located on the edge of the Peak District National Park in the Staffordshire moorlands and is surrounded by blanket tree preservation order. Other places of interest within easy driving distance include the market town of Leek, Macclesfield, The Potteries, Biddulph Grange, Buxton, Tittesworth Reservoir and The Roaches. We spent one very enjoyable, relaxing and peaceful week at the Boathouse. We only used our car once as there was plenty of enjoyable walking available to us from the doorstep. An idyllic holiday destination for a couple looking for a quiet location with beautiful scenery from every window of the Boathouse. We felt that the accommodation would have benefitted with comfortable outside seating for sunny warm days. In our opinion the grounds surrounding the property would have been improved with removal of weeds in the gravel and a general tidy up. There were a lot of cobwebs on the inside of the Boathouse on the large glass windows in the vaulted ceiling. Tea and coffee were provided but there was no welcome pack as described when we booked. This may have to due to Covid 19 but there was no explanation about this.

Amazing location with fantastic views up and down the lake. The boathouse was well equipped and spotlessly clean

A well presented cottage right on the edge of the peaceful and beautiful Rudyard Reservoir. Ideal if you want to get away from it all. Surrounded by woodland, we had a wonderful time birdwatching, walking and relaxing.

We have stayed in many boathouses over the last ten years, all being in the Lake District. Inglenook is far closer to where we live, reasonably priced and ideal to visit with our dog. Lovely walks on the doorstep, private parking, stunning boathouse with secure garden for our dog. We will enjoy many a getaway here in the future - its beautiful even in the cold February weather.

We had a fabulous 3 night stay, stunning views and very tranquil location. Perfect for a dog as all enclosed he loved it! It was a birthday surprise for my boyfriend he was blown away! There are a couple of touches that would be nice ie spare toilet roll for and shower gel, I know small things, but given the price per night it is typically provided in our experience So far, and would happily forgo the chocs and wine, though a nice touch. We had planned to walk everywhere but had to head to a big supermarket which we wanted to avoid. This did not spoil anything and would highly recommend this delightful place so romantic and high quality interior. The walk round Rudyard lake was fabulous. Thank you

Wonderful accommodation. Although right next to the sailing club, as there were no events going on there it was quiet and tranquil. How it would have been if there were a party or a wedding doing on, I can only speculate. Perfect for a relaxing break right on the lakeside.

If you want peace and quiet then come here. The standard of accomadation is excellent and outlook is beautiful. It's a lovely walk into Rudyard and around the Lake and only a 10 minute drive into Leek which we found surprisingly nice. It's a wonderful get away from it all break !
