Description

A three-storey cottage finished in contemporary style set in a charming market town surrounded by countryside, yet within easy reach of the coast.

Situated in the heart of the picturesque market town of Helmsley, this stone-built, character cottage enjoys peace and privacy, an enclosed garden and private parking. With a contemporary interior, high specification finishes and luxury furnishings, this is a perfect base for a relaxing holiday. From the doorstep there are renowned restaurants, superb delicatessens, numerous tea shops serving delicious Yorkshire produce, fabulous shops, boutiques and a bustling market. In this idyllic location, amongst rolling countryside on the edge of Ryedale, Helmsley has an art centre with live events and film programmes, 5 acres of walled gardens set beside the backdrop of the castle ruins, and Duncombe Park, a country estate which is home to the International Centre of Birds of Prey. During the summer months there is an open-air swimming pool. The surrounding area offers wonderful walking and cycling, and family fun can be found at Flamingo Land and ‘Go Ape’ in Dalby Forest. From the popular market town of Pickering, 13 miles, the famous North Yorkshire Moors steam train transports visitors through stunning scenery to the ancient fishing port of Whitby. The traditional seaside resorts of Scarborough and Filey, and the quaint coves at Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes, are all easily accessible. Visit the abbey ruins at Rievaulx and Byland; the stately homes of Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard, and the walled city of York which is less than an hour’s drive. Shop, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

Beautiful cottage - very modern - plenty of room. Lovely having so many ensuites. Slight down side - not much outdoor space - especially if children are in the party. Very convenient location for travelling around to various attractions. Helmsley is a lovely small town and the cottage was about 1 minute from the centre.

The location was perfect - a quiet, pretty gated courtyard but only a 2 minute walk from the charming town. The bedrooms were beautiful and plenty of bathrooms. Open plan ground floor which meant that everyone could be together while some cooked/ate/relaxed.

Lovely house in the perfect location It is a new house and really does live up to its description We were very happy here. The only negative I have (and this is a very minor point) The beds were a little to firm for me as I like a really soft bed However the rest of our party were more than happy with the beds

Lovely cottage although beds a little hard for our taste. Superb position in the village, private parking huge advantage.

Response on behalf of the owner:- Thank you for your feedback. Glad that you enjoyed our central position in the village. Apologies re the mattress, this is the first comment we have had on this. We took great care to ensure the mattresses and bedding are of the best quality and its hard to gauge everyone's preferred choice.
