This beautiful lodge is situated directly overlooking the water with a perfect uninterrupted view over the lake. Enjoy watching the many visiting waterfowl, include species such as mandarin ducks, oyster catchers and many more. Directly behind the lodge is The Park, where you can stroll through more than 60 delightful trees and maybe enjoy a picnic at one of the tables provided.
The lodge has been skilfully designed to marry modern contemporary living coupled with hints of old-world charm. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences expected, and there is a vintage, solid oak, Dutch dining table which enjoy views of the lake. In the adjacent lounge area, there is comfortable seating with both sofa and armchairs having recliner functions, perfect for a relaxing evening. Two sets of double patio doors lead onto the spacious decked area which is equipped with bistro tables and chairs for al fresco dining any time of day, with under eaves lighting enhancing any evening experience. Comfortably accommodating up to four people in genuine comfort, there are two bedrooms each with their own bathroom facilities. The owners offer guests a complimentary, 45-minute boat trip for up to four people aboard the Mercia Swan (canal boat trip).
Nestled in the award-winning, largest inland marina in Europe, this really is the perfect base to explore all that the local area has to offer. Why not take advantage of the Boardwalk, a promenade of six boutique retailers centred around a fabulous two-storey bar and restaurant? From here, you front onto a raised wooden walkway offering terrific views of the water, boats and wildlife. You will also discover a sensory garden at the end of The Boardwalk where you can watch the world go by.
Close by, Findern is a lovely village situated about 6 miles west of Derby. The village green is overlooked by All Saints Parish Church where a carved semi-circular stone or ’tympanum’, discovered when the previous Norman Church was demolished in 1862, is preserved. There are great walks in the area, and it is a great base to explore the Peak District National Park with its market towns of Bakewell and Ashbourne, as well as its many pretty villages.

Well equipped holiday home. The Marina is a lovely location, some noise from the busy road. Lots to see and do locally, only the July heatwave prevented us from doing more. Will definitely consider a return visit.

My husband and I plus another couple, spent three nights at Honeysuckle Lodge. We were doing the British Masters Athletic Federation Track and Field Championships and need somewhere to stay. Honeysuckle Lodge is very clean with everything needed to relax. The reclining chairs were a bonus and being so near to the water was great. We would definitely return in the future.

Beautiful lodge, very well furnished.Great facilities in the lodge.Fabulous view of the small lake in front of the lounge window.Constant flow of birds, geese and ducks on the lake. The actual marina needs more publicity,as it has the shopping arcades, and several cafes and restaurants nearby(150 yards approx.distance).I have passed nearby on a through road nearby, over many visits and although signposted for the marina,i wasn't aware of all the facilities.Only slight minus was the bedrooms could use some black out blinds,as the morning sun wakes you up. Overall, nearly perfect........
