This is a delightful cottage located close to the dramatic North Devon coast and Exmoor.


This is a great place for families and couples to stay and explore Exmoor and North Devon’s attractions including National Trust properties, beaches and castles.

Living room: With wood burner and Freeview TV.
Kitchen/dining room: With wood burner, electric oven, gas hob and fridge/freezer.
Utility room: With microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer.

Separate toilet.
First Floor:
Bedroom 1: With double bed and en-suite with shower over bath, and toilet.
Bedroom 2: With twin beds.
Bedroom 3: With single bed.
Bathroom: With bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burners included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Welcome pack. Front garden. Small enclosed rear courtyard with garden furniture and BBQ. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are water features in the front garden and rear courtyard. This property has a security deposit of £250.

Situated at the gateway to the popular seaside towns of Lynton and Lynmouth, Home Cottage stands detached in an elevated position in the small village of Barbrook. The house has been designed and furnished to offer the highest standards of presentation and comfort. The versatile living areas are complemented by three welcoming bedrooms to ensure a restful and enjoyable holiday. Outside there is a large paved garden area to the front, complete with a water feature. There are two further smaller courtyard areas to sit out in and an enclosed one for those bringing along their pets.

There are walks directly from the cottage up the lane up onto Exmoor, and for your convenience, a handy local shop and garage are located just around the corner. It is a short drive to the centre of Lynton where you will find a good range of shops and amenities. Lynton is connected to its seaside neighbour, Lynmouth, by the famous funicular railway. Lynmouth is delightful and again has a good range of shops and places to eat.

There are numerous attractions within easy reach including Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and Watermouth Castle. At Croyde and Woolacombe you will find some of the best surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor has lots to offer including Tarr Steps, the village of Withypool and a walk up Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor. A day out into West Somerset is recommended with places such as Porlock Weir, the pretty harbour village of Watchet, medieval Dunster village and the National Trust’s Dunster Castle and Gardens. The seaside town of Minehead nearby is home to the West Somerset Steam Railway. There are National Trust properties at Arlington and Knightshayes, and the RHS gardens at Rosemoor and Great Torrington. Woody Bay narrow gauge railway is about 2½ miles away and the South West Coastal Path provides some challenging but highly rewarding walks and is easily accessible. For those wanting to venture slightly further afield, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Croyde are all within an hour of the property. Beach 2 miles. Shop 100 yards, pub ¾ mile and restaurant 1½ miles.
