Loved every moment of our stay. A warm welcome awaited us from Wendy who is extremely kind & helpful. Ideal location for exploring the Peak District. The house is very well equipped, we never had any issues. There is plenty of information provided in the house to help you decide which places to visit. We had a wonderful week at the house and would highly recommend it.

We stayed here with our friends for Christmas and when we arrived the house had been beautifully decorated and Santa had left us a present under the tree. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge on the comfy sofas, the gas fire was very efficient. The house is very well equipped, lots of cooking equipment, although an extra frying pan would have been useful. The two fridges came in handy as well. Plenty of space on the drive for us. Apart from the creaky floors which we had read about in other reviews the only downside was the bathroom in the king size room. It states shower over bath but because of the sloping roof you cannot stand up to have a shower, in fact there isn't even a shower curtain provided. We ended up having to have a bath and use the shower head to rinse our hair. We were envious of the girls in the twin room as they had a separate bath and shower cubicle all to themselves.

Lovely long weekend with friends. Well equipped spacious house, only downside very creaky floorboards & only small towels in twin bedded bedroom. Overall very good value for money

Nice house , but carpets are disgusting, need a good clean . If it is allowed dogs surely it would be healthier to have laminated flooring

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your review. The carpets are cleaned after every visit however; we do a deep clean every 6 months. Yes, I agree the carpets are stained but we cannot be held responsible for every spillage. We do trust our guests to clean any spillages or dirty footprints prior their departure.

Dissapointing! Lovely location, large spacious house and garden but very tired and in need of a thorough clean and refresh. The whole house felt worn out from the bin with the lid that didn't close and leaky kettle to the dirty stained carpets and well worn out lumpy beds and crispy towels... even the floor has given up, you can't move around upstairs without it sounding like a heard of elephants is traipsing around. The kitchen is well equipped with crockery and cooking equipment, at one time someone really put some effort into this place but it really feels neglected now.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. The carpets are light and stained due to dogs staying, dirty shoes, spillages etc. I am always on hand to help with any issues, I was not contacted about these ones. The guest did advise me when tumble dryer wasn’t working and I replaced it straight away. The house is over 25 years old, so there is bound to be creaks here and there.
