Great place to stay as base for "3 peaks of the Lake District" walk. Great value for long weekend. Only complaint was that the TV didn't work.

Short break with a group of friends. House was spacious and just right. Walked to the Gosforth Hall Inn (5mins max) for a great dinner, good pies! Only awkwardness was the lounge mirror gives a perfect view of anyone upstairs changing.

Great place to stay with a wonderful feel. Modern and clean inside and practical for walking/dogs/kids. The only real issue - the 2nd floor bedroom is on a mezzanine level (we may have missed this in description) meaning unsuitable for kids as not quiet due to being part of the open plan first floor. Aside from that a great place - happily go back.

Fantastic place - great for our group having a weekend away. Very cosy despite being on the main road through the village, and very centrally situated for wandering around Gosforth. It's a huge house with plenty of room for our group of six, would be great for a family or a group going to the lakes for a break. Very well stocked shop, a nice cafe, and several pubs/restaurants in a couple of minutes walk (in some cases under a minute away!) All the facilities in the house were fantastic and it was incredibly clean. Our only problem was the Wi-Fi which was due to outside circumstances and no fault of the owners, who let us know quickly the root of the problem. 10/10 Would definitely stay again, can't recommend this place enough.

We had a lovely stay at hollybank. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed . The village is beautiful with 4 pubs and an Italian restaurant . The village shop has everything you need and loved the fact that they sell lots of local produce and organic refillable wine and olive oils .

Bearing in mind we stayed at the property at short notice, due to the help from Cottages staff in relocating from our original booking property, Hollybank was a bit lik a security blanket as it saved our holiday! Hollybank is really well presented, has everything you need within a holiday cottage, well positioned in a busy village. The local shop had everything you might need if you don't want to go to big supermarkets. There is good choice of local pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The only negative is the property has no real outside space, and parking is limited to one car as Hollybank is next to the local village hall and its car park.

We had a wonderful stay at Hollybank which has a spacious open plan 1st floor lounge/dining room/ kitchen. Within easy walking distance in Gosforth you have a popular bakers offering delicious homemade pies, a village store, welcoming refurbished pub with very tasty fish and chips and an Italian Restaurant where we sampled lovely takeaway pizzas and pasta dishes. Dogs seem to be welcomed into most Lake District pubs we visited which was very handy. The Lake District scenery is stunning and a challenging ascending/descending drive through the Wrynose and Hardknott Passes with its single track, steep, hair-pin turns, is not to be missed but is not for the faint hearted however you are rewarded with breathtaking memorable views!
