The cottage is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped with all mod cons and includes tea, coffee, sugar and milk in your welcome pack, along with a lovely surprise. The showers (there are two of them) are powerful and hot which was appreciated after a day on the beach and the whole cottage has a cosy and homely atmosphere. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed breakfast in the courtyard most mornings. There are cards, games and puzzles for the whole family and plenty of reading material supplied on the bookcase for lazy days. The location of Hillcroft cottage is great for exploring both north and south coasts, with both only being around an hour away. There are so many places for days out with the family that we struggled to fit them all in during our fortnight, but can recommend Crealy, Dunster and Haynes motor museum to name a few. The location is quiet and relaxing and the local villages are lovely for relaxing dog walks around the area. If you are taking your four-legged friend the local post office and pub (Bell Inn) are dog friendly and the food in both is highly recommend. The only criticism I would have is that the double bed is extremely soft and slopes at the head end. Personally It didn’t bother me, but my husband is a light sleeper and fussy about his bed. He found it very uncomfortable and so slept downstairs, so if you like a firm bed you might want to use one of the twin beds. This is the only minor fault I could list - our family (2adults, 1 teen, an 8 year old and a dog) had the best holiday in years, away from the tech and stresses of everyday life. I would highly recommend to all.
