Description

A traditional Cotswolds cottage with pleasant views, a pleasing base from which to join the Cotswolds Way and other routes.

The Hollywood producers of ’Bridget Jones Diary’ chose Snowshill as a location for a reason. You will see a view you will not forget from this lovely Cotswolds stone holiday cottage. With a beautiful raised garden at the rear, this end of terrace property is located right in the heart of the Cotswolds. The shopping delights of Broadway, 2½ miles, and the ’capital of the Cotswolds’ Chipping Campden, 5 miles, are on your doorstep. Just opposite, the village inn serves food and has a children’s play area. The historically renowned Snowshill Manor (NT) is also a must for visitors.

Ground floor: Living room with beams and double sofa bed (for alternative sleeping). Dining room/kitchen. Utility room. Spiral stairs to first floor: 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Second floor: 1 twin bedroom. Two additional Z-beds (for alternative sleeping).

Electric woodburner in living room included. Gas central heating included (£30per week, £25 per short break October-April). Electricity and bed linen included. DVD and small library. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Wi-fi. Cottage style garden with patio and furniture. Garage. Parking. Book and games library. No smoking. NB: 17 steps up to garden.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hill View cottage. Comfortable and relaxing, and will be booking it again. The only criticism is that the cottage could do with a decent clean, and in particular the chimney in the kitchen needs properly sweeping as soot constantly falls from it into the kitchen and the electric wood burner needs a proper clean before the large amounts of dust and cobwebs in and around the actual heater part set fire. Overall, well worth the money. Cosy and comfortable and a great place for a relaxing holiday or break.

We loved the house, the village, the pub nearby, the surroundings! But unfortunately we found the bed for two persons not very comfortabel because it was for us a bit short and too hard. Also did we miss a coffeemachine. When these two things will be improved we sure will return because we loved the rest of the house very much!

We had a wonderful time at this lovely cottage in its beautiful surroundings. Such peace and quiet. Away from daily life to relax and enjoy.

I loved staying here, it felt so homely straight-away. The feature of the living room which made it so cosy and welcoming was the wonderful large wood-burning fire which had the best realistic log-effect I have ever seen, it looked so genuine! My main reason for staying in this area was to explore the surrounding countryside on foot and I was able to do this mainly from the door, using the car just twice. I felt the end of April to be a lovely time to visit with the primroses and bluebells in the woods and a profusion of bird-song, all very up-lifting.

Very beautiful cottage in a wonderful location. Old heating system isn't the warmest but at such a cold time of the year, that's to be expected! Fantastic furnishings and I must say, the local pub is hard to beat!

Had a relaxing week at this lovely little cottage in a beautiful & peaceful location. It was spotlessly clean & a very comfortable bed (only the 2 of us, so the 2 single beds did not get used.) Did find it a little drafty in the main room at times (but we had a particularly icy wind once or twice while there.) It was good as a base & we loved the location...It felt private & was very peaceful, with beautiful views...Plenty of nice walks nearby. Having a local pub down the road helped for the odd meal, too. If I would recommend anything, it would be to have something near the front door, where one could put muddy footwear, when coming in, so as not to soil the carpets.

A lovely cottage in a stunning location. It was well equipped and we had everything we needed. The black-out blinds in the bedrooms were much appreciated. We particularly enjoyed being able to just stroll round to one of our favourite National Trust locations - Snowshill Manor. Having the pub across the road was nice too. The village was very quiet and peaceful. If you have children do take note of the steps up to the garden - you can't see them playing if you are in the cottage so you may find yourself needing to supervise them more closely than you would at home. Bear in mind that it is not really suitable for very young children due to the spiral staircase. You do need a car to get the most out of the property and it is within easy driving distance of lots of great attractions. One of the twin beds is not very comfortable though with prominent springs and my nine-year-old found it hard to sleep on - not sure how an adult would manage. If that issue was resolved I wouldn't hesitate to give it a 10/10.
