We received a warm welcome to this beautiful cottage from the owner. The cottage is tastefully decorated, well equipped and welcoming both inside and out. We particularly liked the view over the farmland from the French window and the quiet location. We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing 4 days.

Oak Barn is a little gem, warm, cosy, comfortable and beautifully presented. Newly renovated, the fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality and we couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodation. It has a lovely outlook over fields and rolling countryside, with a pleasant garden and patio area, ideal for sitting out in warmer weather. Northamptonshire really is a very underrated county, it has all of the beauty of the Cotswolds with the added bonus of not being so busy. Conveniently located for many places of interest such as Stratford Upon Avon, Warwick Castle and Althorp, it also provides great birdwatching opportunities at Daventry CP, Pitsford reservoir and Boddington. Oak Barn would be a great base for anyone visiting the British Birdwatching Fair at Rutland Water, Silverstone, or for anyone attending local weddings. The nearby town of Daventry has a good range of shops and we can recommend the Countryman pub/restaurant. Thank you Elaine for your warm welcome and for making our stay so enjoyable - we wish you every success with your new venture!

It's a beautiful, well equipped cottage. It's small but beautifully designed and perfect for a quiet, relaxing stay. The owner is on site - very welcoming and helpful (borrowed a broom to sweep up my dog's hair..!!) The cottage is about 6-7 miles from Daventry so not close to local amenities - you just need to be a bit organised - if I can do it, anyone can. I'll definitely go back...
