We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Higher Farm Barn. The property was immaculately presented and amenities were great - games, pool table, garden badminton etc. The only potential downside for visitors is that the barn is remote so you have to drive everywhere as there are no shops/pubs etc in walking distance. But I would definitely recommend to those seeking a peaceful rural retreat.

3rd time in Higher Farm Barn - everybody loved this cottage again (3 to 74 years). Very friendly and caring landlords.

Good cottage but one shower being out of action became increasingly annoying.

The cottage has a 'wow'factor! Very spacious and lovely rooms and even the kitchen is very well equiped. The quietness in the rural environment is recommended to get in a 'zen' modus. A small suggestion would be an update on the beds and furniture as these have had their best time. Also the drainage of the shower gave some problems, even when we spread the usage. After all, we had a great holliday in this beautifull barn, which we highly recommend to everybody who wants to enjoy the countryside in this wonderful neighbourhood of Sherborne.

Response on behalf of the owner; We are so sorry that you felt the barn was a not warm enough, unfortunately this was an abnormally cold spell with well below freezing temperatures.

Higher Farm Barn was the perfect place to spend Christmas with the extended family. The house was beautifully decorated when we arrived and was warm and comfortably furnished. There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out but without losing the intimacy of a family cottage. We had a lot of fun in the games room and hanging out by the fire. The kitchen is large and well equipped and the dining area was perfect for big family meals and of course, Christmas lunch. Comfy and quiet bedrooms (at least when the little people weren't up early with their Christmas stockings!) and good hot showers/baths. Friendly and accommodating hosts who were discrete but readily available when needed. Wonderful runs and walks through the country lanes surrounding the barn - exactly what we hoped for when we booked.
