Its coastal location ensures fabulous views and great wildlife, and the facilities in the town mean that shopping, dining out and a walk to the pub in the evening are all within easy reach. This accommodation would be an ideal first stop on your way to the North Coast 500, the ultimate road trip.
Just a few minutes’ walk away is the coast where the North Sea meets the Moray Firth, and this coastline has many little villages and lots of lovely beaches all waiting to be explored and enjoyed. There is lots to see and explore in the area with a walk along St Combs Bay, with a lovely 5-mile stretch of sands to ramble on, before coming to the outflow of Loch of Strathbeg, continue on to the Rattray Head Lighthouse, or cut the walk short by heading inland and coming back to the quaint fishing village via the dunes and farmland.
Loch of Strathbeg Nature Reserve is Britain’s largest dune loch and is an RSPB site with a host of different bird species reliant on the loch as a wintering habitat, it is home to a visitor centre and is the perfect outing for any wildlife lovers! Visit Cullen and enjoy its famous Cullen skink soup or stop off at Portsoy where the local ice cream is famous. Wildlife on this coastline is amazing and dolphins pass by regularly so take a boat trip out onto the waters and enjoy the views and the dramatic coastline. This charming cottage ensures an excellent holiday for everyone.
