High Shaftoe sits in a small cluster of barn conversions collectively known as Shaftoe Grange, which is reached at the end of a mile up-hill single track and offers superb accommodation in an idyllic and peaceful setting.  Situated 3 miles north of the picturesque village of Belsay, it is easily accessible from Newcastle, being a mere 15 miles. Belsay Hall and Gardens are only six miles while the historic market town of Morpeth is only 14 miles with a vast array of shops and eateries. The start of the beautiful and unspoilt heritage coastline is only 40 minutes where a day exploring the many castles and golden sandy beaches can be enjoyed. Visit Alnwick and the famous castle used in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey, only 27 miles.
High Shaftoe sits in a tranquil setting surrounded by superb countryside views to give a sense of being in the middle of nowhere, but is in fact, the centre of everywhere.
