Lovely house on the beautiful Isle of Seil. The weather was atrocious for much of the week so the log burner was very welcome. The kitchen was a real joy - it's very rare to find one equipped for real cooking. Every time I went to cook something I thought "I wonder if there's a..." and opened a cupboard and there it was. Whether it was a cooling rack, a garlic press, a pestle and mortar or a liquidiser High Pastures had just what I was after. Internet was pretty decent for a remote location and the house is well equipped with books and audio-visual equipment. The generous welcome pack from the hosts was lovely too.

We were delighted by the cottage and really enjoyed our stay there. Although we didn't meet the owners, they were clearly concerned that everything should be ok for us, and we appreciated the welcome goodies. The only grouse would be that the fridge wasn't very clean. Otherwise it was all good.

We took bikes, and with a shop in Balvicar that meant we didn't have to use the car at all during our stay at High Pastures. And we loved being able to pop through the gate in the garden and up onto the hill for the panoramic view. Superb! And a very comfy house too, with everything we needed.

This cottage is home from home, with every thing in the property you could want. We only spoke to the owners on the phone and they are lovely friendly people. We had a lovely welcome pack with wine and chocolate brownies, eggs and milk. The only thing wrong was that we could not get mobile phone reception, but everything was perfect.

We had a warm and hospitable welcome. The house is very well appointed and feels very loved. The views and access to the countryside are great. Slightly disappointed that nearby access to the water side was difficult. The wildlife around the house added greatly to our enjoyment. We would happily stay again, especially as this is in such a beautiful area not too far from Oban, which is easily accessible.
