Enjoy the outside hot tub at this property, as well as the superb views of the Duddon Estuary from the patio.

These four detached holiday properties are located at High Lowscales Farm, a traditional Cumbrian hill farm situated in the south-western Lakes, between the beautiful countryside of the Whicham and Duddon Valleys. The farm is set in 17 acres and has spectacular views down to the Irish Sea and the Duddon Estuary. Public footpaths cross the farmland, and next door lies Millom Park, perfect for woodland walks. The driveway is also a bridleway, ideal for mountain biking in the Whicham Valley and up the 600-metre high Black Combe. The beaches at Haverigg and Silecroft, and the Hodbarrow RSPB reserve are a 10-minute drive, whilst the market town of Broughton-in-Furness is 15 minutes away. Within a half hour drive you will also find Coniston Water, the Barrow-in-Furness Peninsula (pretty drives, Furness Abbey, The Dock Museum, Walney Island Nature Reserve, Piel Island, Furness Owls, Gleaston Watermill and the Cumbrian Coastal Way), Muncaster Castle and “La’al Ratty” miniature steam railway at Ravenglass which all make for wonderful days out. The Aquarium of the Lakes and steam boat cruises on Windermere are a 40-minute drive away. The Stables is absolutely immaculate, a very well finished cottage that had everything you need. It's setting is very rural on a working farm but Millom is just a short drive away. There a lots of walks on your doorstep and the views are beautiful, particularly while enjoying them from the hot tub. The decked area which the hot tub, table and chairs and a barbeque sit on is completely enclosed meaning that Sophie the dog could enjoy a relaxing break as well. Highly recommend the Stables

We had a fabulous week away at the cottage. We had lovely walks with the dogs right off the door step, no need to drive anywhere. We enjoyed our break immensely and we're so happy we chose to stay at the low scales cottages. We will definitely be back and will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Absolutely fantastic! The area was perfect - lots of amazing walks from the cottage. The property was beyond expectation, very clean, and of high quality. Also had a lovely surprise with wine and chocolates on arrival as well as basic food and kitchen/bathroom essentials. The hot tub was just beautiful, sitting in bliss surrounded by beautiful views of the mountains and the sea. Everything was just perfect for our little get away.

Another beautiful barn conversion. Having stayed in The Byre, The Cottage and now The Stables, we can highly recommend them all. We will definitely be back, the hardest part will be choosing which one!

Loved the cottage, lovely inside just one criticism there was dog hair left over from the person before. If a dog is in it, it should be properly cleaned, but had a lovely time.

Amazing weekend, perfect little cottage, just wish I could have adjusted the heating as it was cold at night!

We loved our time at the stables. The quality of the renovation is excellent. The only reason we haven't scored a 10 is because of the heating system. Unfortunately the thermostat in the living room and kitchen were turned off so we only had a plug in heater to use. The location is fantastic if you want a quiet break but could feel too secluded if the other cottages are empty. The views from the upstairs windows and decking area are fantastic. The decking area is very private with speakers installed which were great when using the sauna. Everything has been done to the highest standard! We're already looking to book another break at the stables.

Great location, spectacular walks from the door step, superb views over the estuary and hills, and inside high quality throughout. Could do with a welcome pack with info on heating system, sauna, local walks, etc. Would definitely recommend.
