At the heart of “1066 Country” is the attractive market town of Battle, perfect for enjoying afternoon tea, or finding a souvenir of your holiday in one of the art galleries and experience the famous battle itself through dramatic film and audio tours witnessing the event that changed the course of English history – The Battle of Hastings. A nice quiet location to explore the area. The owner is a lovely host and his dog (Buddy) is very friendly. Would recommend the Red Lion for a tasty home cooked meal and a visit to Batemans (NT) about 30 minute drive and of course Battle Abbey is close by.

Although the property had everything we needed, all surfaces were dusty with cobwebs and spiders everywhere, even the bed frame was covered in cobwebs which didn't help for a goods nights sleep. The property was on a main road which was quite noisy at times and poor visibility coming out of the driveway.

Nice, warm and cosy cottage. Great for visiting many places, good local pubs for food.
