This Lakeland stone holiday cottage dates back to 1800 and is set at the end of a long private drive, amidst wonderful scenery and adjoining the owner’s farmhouse. An excellent home from which to explore the surrounding countryside. The Lakes and Yorkshire Dales are also easily accessible with Windermere just 8 miles. Walking direct from the door. The historic town of Kendal with its wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants is just 3 miles.

With open fire, TV, DVD player and CD player.
Kitchen/dining room: With electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and patio doors leading to garden.
Separate toilet.
First Floor:
Bedroom 1
: With double bed.
Bedroom 2: With twin beds.
Bedroom 3: With twin beds.
Shower room: With shower cubicle and toilet.

Oil central heating (£30 per week, £15 per short break November-March), electricity and bed linen included. Fuel for open fire included (November-March). Travel cot and highchair. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer (shared). Garden with patio, garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a spring. This property has a security deposit of £100.

    Everything was good but to leave the cottage at 10:00am was hard for the family who have kids.Checking out time should be around 12:00.

    We absolutely loved staying here! Stunning cottage and surroundings and very helpful owner! All the equipment we could possibly need - we have a baby and Ann provided everything we required so we didn't have to bring it with us, which was a massive help. Also a selection of books, jigsaws, and even baby toys for rainy days, that we were lucky enough to NOT experience! We were also able to take advantage of the barbecue that is available for guests and cooked up a storm - a very memorable meal soaking up the gorgeous views for miles around of the undulating hills, animals, trees and farms going about their daily work. Very high quality furnishings and a brand new bathroom made us feel we had a touch of luxury. It's very close to Windermere and the southern Lakes - a bit further if you want the north-western Lakes. Saying that, driving around was one of my favourite things so I wouldn't see this as a negative. Would recommend to anyone who wants a home away from home :)

    Response on behalf of the Owner; Sorry you feel there has been “issues”. The only issue that was brought to my attention was being unhappy about paying a security deposit and extra fuel charge (with it being winter), this payment is stated in the terms and conditions when booking the cottage.

    We were a family group of four mature members and picked this cottage for the privacy that a married couple and two extra people would be able to have, given there are three bedrooms (a double and two twins). Everything about the cottage was perfect for us. And the views ...... Stunning! The cottage was lovely outside and inside. Tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and had all the conveniences and facilities we wanted or needed. We didn't cook whilst there (we really did have a lazy weekend, eating out all the time on this occasion because we were out early and back in late each day), but the kitchen had everything you could need and was absolutely modern. The kitchen / dining room has lovely views over the fields to a hugely distant horizon. Comfortable beds, excellent toilet / shower facilities (2 toilets) and the bonus of vanity sink units in two of the three bedrooms made things very comfortable. The owner made us very welcome on arrival and passed the keys directly to us. They live in the adjacent part of the cottage and so is close by if you need anything, but you have complete privacy in any case. The cottage has some nice patio furniture (plenty of seats) to sit on and take a relaxing drink or meal on and there is a barbecue too. For location, it's really only a few minutes away from Kendal and is down a private drive, just a short distance from the town. Car parking was easy at the cottage and there was a nice turning space. We neglected to put a comment in the Guestbook (we usually do at a new place) but forgot this time, but hopefully this review says it all anyway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate whatsoever to go back.
